ParticipantHe could do things with a guitar that were flat out amazing. I’ve heard that some of his riff’s could not be duplicated, many tried and failed.

ParticipantHey Steve…hope you’re doing well…!!!!
As far as I’m concerned it’s still very much alive. I’ve had my ticket since 1976, and even though I live in an apartment and can’t put up antennas, I still manage to find ways to stay active.
Is it a “Social Hobby”…??? Yes….I think it is. It brings people with similar interests together. There’s something there for everyone….chasing DX, Field Day, building a repeater or maybe building an antenna. For me it was always the learning that attracted me. My latest “fad” is DMR radio. How does it work..??? and how to take that knowledge and make it into something “physical” like a DMR repeater.
It’s an amazing hobby and I’m very lucky to have been introduced to it by a Math Teacher when I was in the 7th grade.

ParticipantWhile I don’t agree with these folks taking over the Wildlife Refuge…I think it behooves us to do some homework…a little research into why this happened. Specifically…look at what The Hammonds have been subjected to for the last few decades:
The Hammond Ranch is clearly the last ranch in that area…and the government wants it.
I applaud the Hammonds for making it clear that the Bundy’s don’t speak for them. But the plight of the Hammonds still remains.
Pretty easy for the folks in Portland and the suburbs to armchair quarter-back this….but they’ve never walked in the Hammonds shoes.

But that’s exactly what you did. What a horrible thing to say.
Unless you are someone who has personal experience with addiction, you can never know what she went through, or what her family went through for that matter. At the end of the day…she beat her addiction. She left this earth clean and sober…!!!!
