WOW .. Rush Limbaugh was an absolute GEM to millions and millions of Americans – Last Night on Hannity James Golden, also known by his pseudonym, “Bo Snerdley,” expressed the great feelings of loss of his millions of followers – (By The way Bo is African-American) The outpouring of love and support for Rush was well founded. He is one of the most successful Radio people of our lifetimes, along with Paul Harvey. Rush will not be easily be replaced. R.I.P. Rush Limbaugh a great American and broadcaster. If he isn’t already he should be in the Radio Hall Of Fame.

CHESSYDUCK Let me research that and see what I can find out – what area are you in?

So you are going to GoodGuyRadio.com and pulling up the Stream and this is what you are getting:“Welcome to our Internet stream! This station is not streaming to your geographic area at the moment” Is that correct ?

Thanks, I’ll wait for your response.

Interesting reading all the info on .Mp3 and quality…I volunteer at a local Low Power station and just recently (After Many Years) changed my Voice Track to .WAV Files….although huge files, thanks to Google DOCS able to Upload and then the Station Manager downloads… made a huge difference in the quality of sound (Although maybe not the content of what the announcer says…lol..) .. .WAV is differently a better format than .mp3….. I can’t imagine how bad .mp3 music would sound, needless to say…

Agreed Dan…who would have thought of what is happening today, in the radio business…. on the other hand, it gives a great opportunity for the small local stations (like LP’s) to really shine and hopefully pick up listeners….Long Live Free and Locally controlled radio!

Some of the groups I follow on Facebook are reporting iHeart deal was from 1000-1200 “Employee Dislocations”…stupid term again…

Reading Andy, Steve and Semoochie reminded me of my first almost job. Going to Benson KBPS and answering the KISN request lines nights.. I would use the KISN production room to practice being a DJ…somehow I got hired over the phone to do weekends at KGAL in Albany/Lebanon..drove down one Satu Morning for my first day on the job – The PD Sowed me the Format Clock, some equipment to use and “here is where you hang your license”…1st Class license..which I didn’t have only 3rd…No Job…lol.. Oh the fun times in radio..lol.. (In the Summer went Ron Bailey School directly across the street from KISN and got it then by Fall — and yes the memorize questions…failed in Portland went to Seattle because the FCC had not changed the test)..

Meant Keith in late 1979 (Had a girlfriend that was part of his student class on Radio & TV at PCC)..He really ran a great program for many, many years. You think of all the broadcasters – radio – TV that got into the business because of his encouragement and training it has to be in the 1000’s of the years.
