Sunny 1550 shall be missed. I think about all the oldsters in the assisted living communities who were wondering what happened to their usual dosage of Four Freshmen, when they heard the Vietnamese programming.
I wonder if the new owners will take advantage of the station’s reach into the Hood River area. Last year I picked up 1550 all around that area, much better reception than in SE Portland.January 20, 2018 at 1:38 am in reply to: KPAM News Talk 860 & KKOV Sunny 1550 Sold For $1.2 Million #34256
sunny1550.com no longer streams Americas Best Music. May be a temporary glitch, or perhaps the beginning of the end.November 30, 2017 at 10:11 am in reply to: KPAM News Talk 860 & KKOV Sunny 1550 Sold For $1.2 Million #33410
I’ve enjoyed this last operation santa Claus this year. Now Bob has Craig Walker on, talking about old radio stuff.November 13, 2017 at 12:55 am in reply to: KPAM News Talk 860 & KKOV Sunny 1550 Sold For $1.2 Million #32978
Any idea when they’ll turn off the bubble machine on 1550?
I’ll miss both stations very much. (I mean the programming.)
What’s the frequency, Kenneth?March 2, 2017 at 10:33 pm in reply to: Sinclair approaches Tribune Media about possible deal #27649
I was under the impression that WGN lost most or all of the Cub’s games a few years ago. Maybe I’m wrong though. Seems like they should have fired the guy who made the decision to scale back the Cubs on wgn a year before they won the series.
I’m saddened by this, since I’ve listened to that show for many years.
The KEX garden show had a really long run too. That one went away about 8 years ago I think.
I guess they would rather play these godawful financial “consulting” shows instead, which seem to be infomercials for various white collar criminals.
Earlier this week after 7pm I picked up kdwn Las Vegas pretty good, out in the Hillsboro area.
And also I don’t know what station from somewhere in Utah, that seemed to have live local talk. (1360, maybe)
I used to hear kdwn sometimes in the 90s but not very often, and not lately. And not stuff from Utah. I wonder if my 2016 Dodge rental has an extra good radio or what. Bouncier ionosphere?
Yeah Mr. Kopp I noticed that, too, the 720p on 2.2. It looks pretty great, especially during the commercials when the content is actually HD-ish.
1450 kbps Christmas… er, holiday greeting card on the air now!
