ParticipantLike somebody said earlier on this thread “that’s a lot of Russian”. Don’t mean to brag but KXRU will be the best of all. However, I think we will be trying to make the move to Mt Scott. Nobody beats KISN’s signal… I was wondering if anybody could help me figure out the owners of those towers where KISN is. I looked and looked and wrote emails but nobody is responding. There has to be a way to get a hold of those people… BTW, let me know what you think about audio quality if you’re in the area. Adjusting the audio processor was a nightmare.

ParticipantAlfredo, when you say KMHD do you mean KMHD-HD2 (college channel)? The original KMHD (jazz station) is leased to OPB and all what it plays is Jazz music.
Me being a student of the MHCC’s broadcasting program a few years ago I’ll tell you that we were required to do both, live and voice-tracked shows. So KMHD-HD2 did and still does have a whole bunch of live shows, you are just not listening at the right time.
And about going on and on about well known songs, I bet the guy was just a beginner DJ. We had those people in our class too. That’s why they were attending it. After 2 years they sounded MUCH better and more professional.
But yeah, college radio is fun. You can air pretty much anything within the “legal limits”

ParticipantHere is our antenna

ParticipantAndy, Reed canceled not because of a lack of antenna site. That’s all what I can say. And yes, we will file for a license modification to get the 24/7 privilage. As for the height, we tried everything and this is the “lowest & highest” we could go without spending the VERY big bucks. Although it’s not cheap to this point… Radiation center above average terrain 22m 0m
Radiation center-height above ground 15.7m 0m
I hope the expensive and high quality SWR antenna with a 2-bay (full wave) setup will make a difference in our coverage. However we won’t know until we hit the switch. And BTW we are all ready to go. Still deciding what kind of programming we should do!spud
ParticipantThat is gonna hurt “financially”. I don’t think the FCC is gonna let it fly. But her as a host, very unprofessional. One thing that every radio host must practice is “ALWAYS ASSUME THE MIC IS ON”

ParticipantI can’t wait to see what happens when KYTE goes on the air from their new location. BTW I wonder when will that be…

ParticipantWhen you want to hear an “exotic” station you listen to shortwave. Soon you won’t have to. AM/LPFM will be the place to go

ParticipantI wonder what made G&E Studios decide on this format flip.
The answer is – money! Easy money! Most likely an LMA contract with a Chinese group / organization.

ParticipantVery strange. I sometimes have a hard time picking up the signal in Gresham with an outside antenna. Could this map show an upgraded service?

Participant@paulwalker. No, no podcast. He was LIVE on dozens of stations across the U.S. and Canada. Even KXL had him. He was actually very popular. Check out this list of stations.

ParticipantAlfredo, maybe it was a chupacabra! Let wait and see what the investigators will say 🙂

ParticipantNobody disagrees on that WMA35. But is that a reason to kill him? So if you disagree with Art, kill him. Disagree with Trump, takes his site down… Now I understand why Lars Larson ALWAYS carries a gun! I like what Ben Carson said, “Being politically correct is our nations biggest problem”.
