I’m sad to report the Anchor/Journalist/sport reporter David Walker passed this morning at Peace Health Riverbend. More details to come for services etc..
He was 67. Rest in peace and be free of pain sir.

Lastday, are you afraid of hearing the truth from a great program called Full Measure ? One if its reporters in Lisa Verch, now Fletcher who used to work at sleezy KEZI.

I find it funny that KWAX says ” educational public radio station” only way that can happen is if they provide a educational experience by having U of O students on the air. That is what it was meant for. That doesnt happen anymore because the Student Union had to start their own many years ago. KWVA is a learning facility !

Somthing stinks, on a diffrent note. I had a friend apply for the job of Program Coordinator. No interview no letter saying thank you applying..nothing. My friend was very disappointed to find out Stu’s EX wife was actually hired. Anyone else have a theory ? I’m thinking Stu knew who he wanted but could not hire her unless the got 2-3 outside applicants. Very unethical if you ask me.

I’m sorry, I sense something fishy in the hiring of Debi Starr. She is Stu’s ex wife. How many people were actually interviewed for this position ?

    From Inside Radio

On Friday, Cumulus signed a deal to sell its entire tower portfolio for $213 million, the company said Monday, which it plans to use to bolster its bottom line and to continue paying down debt. Back to its Q2 financials, same-station net revenue declined 46.6% to $146.0 million. The company posted same-station earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA, a measure of cash flow) of negative $6.3 million and adjusted EBITDA of negative $6.4 million for the three months ended June 30.

I hope they signed long term agreements with the new tower owners. They would be totally screwed if the new owners sold the land and bulldozed the towers…just sayin

I have been told that at 2 maybe 3 shows are done live on KOCF. Country Comfort from 4-6p on Tuesdays with Ryan West. Jazz Cafe on Wednesdays Live from Whirled Pies (now on Hiatus due to Conovirus) He may still be doing live from home, with Andy Goldfinger. Can’t remember the other one. Both excellent shows !

    From All About Country:
Jim Davis, VP/Programming and Country KKNU PD has resigned. He will be starting his own company, Country Radio Consulting.

He has spent 25 years in the market and the station has been No. 1 for nearly 23 years. He’s won four ACMs, two CMAs and three of his air talents namely Bill Barrett, Tim Fox and Tracy Berry have been inducted into the Country Raido Hall of Fame.

He will continue as a consultant for KKNU and will handle day-to-day programming from his hometown of Tulsa. Get in touch with him here.

On another NOTE: Steve Brown is done at Mix 94.5. A very rare opening for a PD for BOB-FM (105.5) and KMGE (Mix 94.5)

First of all, how many people really have HD radios ? Second, Atlanta doesn’t give a rats ass about little ol’ Eugene. Never have, never will. They can’t even get a station in the top 6 in ratings. Turn out the lights the party never started. Just sell them, cumulus.
