It’s back baby! Maybe not another heat dome but still bad. 🙁
Completely agree about Al Franken (based on what I think I know about his situation).
Al Franken has said that he regrets caving in to pressure and resigning. You just never know. But yeah, Cuomo is probably guilty of long-term inappropriate behavior.
Now that this is behind him he can focus on his 2024 presidential run! (ha)
I’m sure every time the Eugene ratings are published, someone at Cumulus bangs their head into a wall repeatedly.
Doing a little googling it could have been 94.5 KTBZ-FM “The Buzz” in Houston, which is in HD. Crazy! Maybe some fragment of their digital signal made it all the way here.
Driving in Springfield around noon today, the information on the list of available stations changed for 94.5. It said “94.5 The Buzz” and the HD light came on, although I couldn’t get an HD lock. The programming was definitely KMGE.
I did an FCC query for 94.5 in Oregon and besides KMGE the only other station that came up is KJDY in Canyon City.
Maybe the local pool of contract engineers is tapped out right now.
98.1 does say “HOME OF THE DUCKS” now.
This case will be studied for decades because it’s such an important perfect storm of failure from every aspect.
As a side note, the transmitter for 98.7 K254DN will be on Blanton. So it should have pretty good coverage.
98.1 is now carrying KUGN, although the text stuff says KSCR-FM All Your Favorite Hits.
KRVM is scrambling to get the translator going on 98.7 for the AM signal before the CP expires. FCC would not grant them an extension so it’s either use it now or lose it.
UO’s station KWVA 88.1 seems to have no lack of student participation. When the UO EMU was remodeled a few years ago, KWVA got a new studio with SOTA everything (except HD). I don’t know the details of who approves the show content etc but they go far outside the programming lines of most any other station in Eugene except for a couple of the newer LPs.
College radio isn’t dead yet.
KRVM HD2 has some new liners. It’s been several years since they were last updated.
Whatever KZEL is now, it has a very interesting and “important” radio backstory. Good for them.
