Sorry to hear of his passing. Just out of curiosity is contract engineer Dylan Hicks related?

I can just barely get it in Eugene. Good enough to get a station ID and tell what they’re saying and playing.

They’re broadcasting only one channel of the stereo source. Very noticeable in Buffalo Springfield’s For What It’s Worth.

While typing this the Sony tuner detected HD and muted the analog signal a couple times trying to lock on HD. Some kind of artifact?

It’s 6:39 and KMTR is promoting news stories set to air at 6:30. Lol. Fail. Also one of their news readers sounds like his mic is in another room.

I’ll turn 69 in a few months. There are so many physical things I can’t do any more. It makes me feel pathetic. But I keep moving forward which is pretty much all we can do as we age. I’m like 16 in my head but my body tells me far otherwise.

Yes I am deathly afraid of “Sinclair Truth”.

Just curious since I avoid the show like it’s the Delta variant. Has Sheryl Atkisson done a deep dive on Trump’s continuing lies? You know, holding powers accountable? Like I say I wouldn’t know since I don’t watch the show.

I like KVAL’s presentation, but they’re forced to run Sinclair’s Full Measure so often that I’ve been watching more KEZI. I would guess that KEZI has gotten a nice bump since Sinclair came to town.

Thanks again Andy for elaborating on the process.

    Thanks chessyduck.

Also, FYI, it isn’t about “being on the air” by the day the C.P. expires. Normally you would be on the air days, even weeks before that date. What it is about is having filed the appropriate application for license by that date.

So they can do testing etc but they can’t officially go live without filing that form to obtain the license to cover? Just trying to understand the sequence of these licensing events.

The CP for 98.7 K254DN expired on 8-10 and there’s nothing on the air. 🙁

The timing of certain recent high-level decisions is really really bad.

Coincidentally I just got my first alert from the Lane County Public Health alert system. Delta variant surging. Get vaccinated for free and get $50.

Hypothetically and I may not know what I’m talking about

If the new transmitter covered by the CP is at the same location as the station’s primary FM transmitter, could they temporarily use their backup transmitter to get the CP signal on the air? That’s assuming the backup can be easily reconfigured for a different frequency and that an appropriate antenna for that frequency has been installed.
