    “Aren’t 49.2 and 49.4 currently hosted by KGW’s transmitter?”

Correct! 49.1 and 49.3 are from ch12, 49.2 and 49.4 are from ch8 and 49.20 and 49.40 are from ch23, according to my Vizio tv tuner.

“Can you pick up KEZI in the Portland area with a long outdoor VHF antenna?”

In Hillsboro, I can detect the KEZI digital reference carrier at 186.309 mHz with my Icom VHF receiver, but ihe signal is too weak for a tv to decode, even with a 10 element high band Yagi.

    Also 23 is transmitting 49.20 & 49.40 which are the same as 49.2 & 49.4.

As I understand it, KRAB was dxed from a location just off of Skyline Bvd. … the signal did drop out occasionally and then the reciever AGC line turned on a tape player that played a station ID. “This is K B O O , Portland”

My Pioneer H-R100 8 track recorder uses AC bias and AC erase IIRC, around 60 khz. It also has Dolby noise reduction available. Fairly decent sounding, for an eight track device.

1330 appears to be transmitting HD, but I can’t get it to lock in solid like KXPD.
I no longer detect KXPD HD at night as the night signal is quite weak. I suspect that what I observed a few nights ago may have been some HD testing at daytime power.
KSL occasionally locks in at night on the tiny Sangean HDR-14.

Perhaps because it represents a distinct change… for several years KQAC has been transmitted on the stations HD-2 channel, now for the first time it can be received by a standard analog FM radio.

Last night I tuned in 1040 (from Hillsboro, about 1am) on a small portable HD radio (Sangean Hdr-14) and saw a flashing HD indicator but did not get HD lock in. Today, I am seeing no indication of HD.
Perhaps the indication that I observed last night was false due to interference, or could they be running HD only at night already???
Also, they seemed to be airing a fair amount of Israli music, including the easily identified Hava Nagila… Delightful!

Nope, that is the world-wide figure.

Right now, from Hillsboro, I detect a strong carrier on 1130, with no modulation. They aren’t saving much power yet.
