Yah, I had just sent them $60.
Locast was sued by the four broadcast networks for copyright infringement. Locast just lost their motion for summary judgment. After briefly suspending its half-hourly pleas for donations, it has suspended service, abruptly going off this morning.
I discovered Locast has a phone app, now I can watch local TV on my phone! Woo-hoo!
From KGW’s Web site today: UPDATE 7/22/2021: We identified another transmitter transmitting on KGW’s frequencies. This has now been shut off. We are hopeful that this will solve any reception issues you might have experienced over the last few weeks. We are now receiving positive reports from many viewers. Thank you for your patience over the last few weeks.”
I wonder what the other transmitter was?
I followed a youtube blogger on how to shut off the sleep timer of the Fire TV Stick using a free utility called AdbLink. Now when I turn the TV on it’s right where I left it.
While I get all the local channels well on the living room TV, whose amplified antenna is five feet off the ground, I despaired of getting always clear channels (particularly OPB) on the bedrooom TV. So I signed up for Locast to stream the local channels, and am trying it out.
KGW made the flip sometime before 3:15 today. One TV (the Vizio) followed it, while the other (the SuperSonic) had to be rescanned.
Well, I rescanned and 8 disappeared and all I get are color bars on 8.8. EDIT: I checked on my other TV, the Vizio, which displays the RF channels on a system menu, and 8.1 etc. was still on RF8. I fiddled with the rabbit ears on my bedroom TV and then I got 8.1 on RF8.

KATU and KOIN come in the strongest, with 4 bars now (the max on my set).
I see 8.8 on 26 in Milwaukie but it is weak, 1 or 2 bars.
8 has been weak here in Milwaukie but I can see 8.10.June 11, 2021 at 11:06 pm in reply to: “You Can Fool Some of the People All of the Time!” #50834
“When the program started in February 2019, 28% of the people slated to get the free money had full-time jobs. One year later, 40% of those people had full-time jobs. A control group of people who did not get the money saw a 5 percentage point increase in full-time employment over that same time period.”June 11, 2021 at 3:58 pm in reply to: “You Can Fool Some of the People All of the Time!” #50832
Reducing poverty is not necessarily creating dependency. Studies show it actually increases employment.
That’s great. Antenna TV is my favorite channel, with MeTV somewhere behind it. I never found anything of interest on Bounce.
