So KATU is adding Decades on 2.4?
Decades, ThisTV and Movies! need to start streaming. Looks like that will be the only way we’ll see them in Portland. I mean we don’t want to deprive Bounce and TBD from having two channels each here.
Since local TV stations don’t seem to be able to self regulate, the FCC should enact a rule that a diginet can be carried by only one local affiliate in a local market. There is no reason for a diginet to be duplicated by local affiliates.
Portland’s diginet situation is a joke. Running the same networks on duplicate stations is an insult to viewers and not a wise financial decision by broadcasters. Meanwhile, stations are allowed to sit dark with no programming. Hopefully, networks like Decades and Movies! will make the transition to the internet.
Actually, Portland is now No. 22. Better yet, what’s the deal with TBD being carried on two stations? The network is a joke, and it’s also available online. A total waste.
KOXO 41.1-41.4 is broadcasting a weather map, stats. Maybe some diginets coming?
Buzzr is now carried online on Pluto.tv
I agree. Decades is one of the best diginets. Start programming looks totally lame. And what’s the deal with 2 Portland stations carrying the equally lame TBD network? That makes no sense.
Also, was just scrolling thru channels and 8.5 popped up briefly.
TBD has moved to 32.4, KCRW has added a subchannel. What will KUNP add on 47.2?
I’ve given up on any Portland TV station adding Movies! Network. I don’t think KGWZ will ever do anything but waste a channel showing the Portland skyline, and I doubt WatchTV will ever activate any of their stations. For classic/vintage movies, the new FilmStruck/Criterion app (on AppleTV, Roku etc.) is amazing. I’m watching much less OTA now.
I’m picking up 16.1 again with just a trace of a signal.
What’s the deal with TV guide websites still carrying listings for Portland Watch TV stations (KORS16 etc.) that have been off the air for more than 6 years?
You mean Watch TV stations are actually going to start broadcasting again?
I’m currently in Kansas City and am amazed at the number of over-the-air channels they have for a media market much smaller than Portland—including new TV stations designed specifically for diginet subchannels. Able to finally see Movies!Network again for the first time since they forced KVOS/Bellingham off the internet.
