I wonder if they can turn back on the translator in sylvan hills and rebroadcast 104.5 kxxp. I know they need to find a full power station located along the west hills and use the HD sub feeds.
Is the 104.5 K283BL translator still on the air? Also, since KXXP sign-on. Will 104.5 K283BL have to shut down or change frequency because of KXXP?
Would it be a conflict of interest? Look what happen to Cesar Chavez Foundation radio stations. They sold 2 of their non commercial radio stations in Phoenix and vasilia Ca and move their signal to the commercial band because they got a heavy fine from fcc for running commercials instead of underwriters.
Compare to the market where I live, (San Francisco), I recieved almost 100 channels off the air. Majority of the programs are foreign languages (Spanish, chinese, Korean, Vietnamese), and home shopping channels. One channel that we don’t have in the Bay Area vs Portland is Antenna Tv.
I wonder why Alpha Media didn’t buy KWEE directly from 3 horizon medís instead of LMA for that last 3 years? Is Alpha Media is in the similar financial situation as I-heart media and cumulus media?March 31, 2018 at 10:19 pm in reply to: Sinclair approaches Tribune Media about possible deal #35813

This is what I pick up from South Tabor at my parents house as of 3-27-2018.
I don’t think there’s anymore room in the FM band in the Portland radio market. I never seen this market so saturated on the FM band. Especially the half channel i.e., 94.3, 95.1, 95.9, etc.
So what other tower sites would it be possible for KGDD 1150AM?
Diplex with KPDQ 800AM tower?
Diplex with KUFO 970AM tower?
Triplex with KMTT 910/KFXX 1080 tower?
Triplex with KPAM 860/KKAD 1550 tower?
How about triple plex with kbnp / kxpd towers at oaks park. I’m not sure if they can duplex with kbms tower located next to smith lake.
Any news regarding KSCR AM 1320/98.1 FM format change?
Question, What is critical Hours? Can they air 2 hours before and after sunrise/sunset local time? Is that means KOOR 1010 can start (1/2/2018) approx. 5:50am and end approx. 6:38pm?
Speaking of Eugene radio, I notice radio stations that broadcasts from Bandon Heights have different Vertical and Horizontal polarization power such as, (H/V) KLCC 89.7(81/54kw), KWAX 91.1 (21.5/12.5kw), KRVM 91.9(15/6.4kw), KKNU 93.1(100/43kw), KMGE 94.5 (49/21kw), KZEL 96.1 (100/43kw), KEQB 97.7 (3.2/2.8kw) and KEHK 102.3 (100/43kw). Why these stations have different Horizontal and vertical powers?
Looks like Entercom and iHeart Media (Clear Channel) are going to swap stations.
Entercom will take KMPS 94.1 (Country), KISW 99.9 (Rock), KKWF 100.7 (Country), KHTP 103.7 (Classic Hip-Hop), and KNDD 107.7 (Alternative).
iHeart Media will take KJAQ 96.5 (Adult Hits), KZOK 102.5 (Classic Rock), and KFNQ 1090 am (Sports). Since iHeart Media already owns 5 FM/2 AM in the market. KPWK 93.3 (CHR-Top 40), KJR 95.7 (Classic Hits), KFOO 102.9 (Alternative), 104.9 KUBE (Rhythmic-CHR) and KBKS 106.1 (Hot AC) plus KHHO 850 (Sports) and KJR 950 (Sports). iHeart Media will have to spin off these 2 Rimshot stations , KFOO 102.9 and KUBE 104.9. Who will take 102.9 and 104.9 FM?October 25, 2017 at 9:30 pm in reply to: KPAM News Talk 860 & KKOV Sunny 1550 Sold For $1.2 Million #32621
