Two Yakima AMs Swap Frequencies
INGSTAD RADIO Classic Country KTCR-A and Talk KBBO-A have swapped dial positions.
The YAKIMA HERALD REPUBLIC reports that KBBO, formerly known as “TALK 980 AM KUSA,” has moved to KTCR’s former 1390 AM facility as “TALK 1390 AM USA,” while KTCR, “THE TRACTOR,” has moved to 980 AM.
No lineup changes are being made in conjunction with the swap, which OM DEWEY BOYNTON said gives KTCR improved sound quality.

KIXZ Spokane Re-Brands As Power 96.1
In MARCH 2012, CCM+E Country KIXZ/SPOKANE flipped to Top 40 as HITS 96.1 offering syndicated and Premium Choice programming, 24/7. This week the station rebranded itself POWER 96.1.
PD BILL “STU” STEWART told ALL ACCESS, ELVIS DURAN and RYAN SEACREST will remain, with other personalities to be announced. “The plan is to bring a fresh, fun NEW approach to Top 40 in this market and although it is more of a re-brand than format flip, we want to bring SPOKANE the best Top 40 product with the best talent in the business. We’ve had a great product that sets us apart from the pack since we started and now we have a name to match.”

ParticipantDamn! Those radio station metal thieves (see KMBI story linked to Craig’s Nov. 6 post) never cease to amaze me. They must like receiving RF burns.

ParticipantWow. That is way cheap for an FM in Yakima. I could have sold my vehicles and purchased it

ParticipantAll Access didn’t report it correctly. It’s really $350k plus the $10,750 for the LMA. Minimal transmiter site equipment, no STL path, plus assumption of tower site lease obligations.
