Measure 97 isn’t a perfect measure by any means, but it begins to target state entities that have not been paying their fare share for too long. The legislature can’t seem to come up with a balanced tax plan, so let’s kick them in the ass and get them working on it by passing Measure 97.
Oh, and for those of you who have been brainwashed by the corporate-funded “No” campaign, read this.
from the linked article:
Measure 97 was brought to you by unions! (Guilty as charged.)
Translation: The funds generated will go to state union employees and their fat pension plans.
(Jesus H …!)
Okay, everyone except Bacon needs to vote Yes on 97.
My wife (also a teacher) and I both voted yes. It’s not perfect by any means, but especially in a school that is majority on some sort of assistance, it will certainly help.
Appreciate the article.
All it really took for me to vote yes was to see what corporations were offering support…and they were, of course, the big boys who already are making a bazillion.
I have really never understood the anti-union rhetoric.
