    JUNE 30TH. TODAY IN PORTLAND RADIO HISTORY

    1937 KGW-KEX announced that in a few days Chet Huntley would be leaving for KFI as a Staff Announcer.

    1946 Jeff Douglas was born in East Orange, NJ. KINK Program Director, 1968-72 & Station Manager, 1972-78. KGW-TV 1979-90.

    1948 KXL-FM began test broadcasts from Larch Mountain, on 96.5 M.C., with 250 watts, as a KXL simulcast.

    1948 KGW & KGW-FM moved studios from the “KWJJ Building” to five studios in the new “Oregonian Building.”

    2001 KJUN began Federal Test Authority on 104.1 MHz., broadcasting “The History of Portland Radio.”
