Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) climbed at a 2.9% rate in the third quarter, better than economists’ expectations for 2.6% growth and much stronger than the 1.4% growth rate recorded for the second quarter. It was the fastest growth in two years. First quarter GDP growth was just 0.8%.
