Taylor Danforth, 1/3rd of sports midday show Danforth, Dirt and Sprague on 1080 The Fan, announced today would be his last show. He said after having long discussions with Entercom, he decided it was best to move on. My guess is they couldn’t come to an agreement on a new contract, as the two year anniversary of the show is today. He was with the station for five years.

He said he’s leaving on good terms and might stay in broadcasting or move back into finance, which he did prior to radio.

The show will continue with Dirt and Sprague. I still would prefer them dropping it to two hours and playing SVP for the full 3 hours.

Guess they can find a cheaper replacement on “Hunt for the Host” season 2. 😉

Watch for Danforth to appear in some role (maybe a new Morning Show??) at Rip City Radio. Think that new IHeart VP of Programming Dave Hill was trying to lure more than one of the trio from KFXX and only Danforth took the bait.
    Twitter descriptions do not lie…

A new morning show is coming to Rip City Radio. It will be the only local sports morning talk show in the PDX area. Nothing about Danforth joining the show.

Uh, OK…Myers and Bunker for mornings…hmmm…I give this 9 months, maybe? Let’s look at the history of 620 mornings since they switched to sports….Jay Mohr (network moved him)…Mitch in the Morning from Seattle (feed…switched off after about 7 months)…the new guys on FOX (nasally New Yorker and barely decipherable accents)…now two guys (one who has called the Beavers a
“second-tier” program) on the Blazer and Beaver flagship. All of this in less than 2 years. Going up against Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd…yup…have fun with that….
