Not sure I have ever seen a contour that was entirely within national forest land. Do you folks know of any others??

How can KBDF survive with a signal that only serves wilderness?

“I was surprised that it doesn’t appear to reach Crater Lake, which would help a little.”

It’s all uphill to the south and Crater Lake, and only slightly downhill to the north.

    At -70 m HAAT 26 m HAG it shouldn’t be a surprise.

Besides, a class A isn’t supposed to go over 17 miles to the 60 dBu.

Crater Lake is at least that far to the northern rim alone let alone the whole lake and southern campgrounds.

A translator at the Crater Lodge would be great— 😀

Yeah that is what I thought too….Crater lake coverage…but not much chance of that..

Maybe there has been some additional population increases in that region..I know I havent been up there for years now…used to be nothin’ but wilderness up there…and a few lake places…

Thats an Idea…lets license one of those to Gold Hill build the translator on top of the *Vortex*..see if we punch through to ‘the other side ‘…or maybe open up a channel to the undead..

Here’s the KDBF household audience. Note the radio antenna on top of tent:

Did KTMT 93.7 change their formats again?

KTMT-FM has the same CHR format, with a new handle. “Now 93-7” is modeled after Mapleton’s Spokane and Chico CHR stations.

    This from All Access:

PORTLAND RADIO AUTHORITY is assigning noncommercial KQCF/CHILOQUIN, OR and the construction permit for a new FM at GLENDALE, OR to COMMON FREQUENCY, INC. for no consideration.

Side note: COMMON FREQUENCY, INC. is the same company that just purchased the KRRC license in Portland.

Here’s an update of Craig’s post from two years ago: A construction permit has been granted for a Class A on 99.3, licensed to Grant’s Pass. It’s short spaced and instead of putting in a directional antenna, the station has opted to reduce power, somewhat, from the class maximum. These must be pretty good guys. There’s an existing LPFM that “technically” doesn’t cause interference to their 60dbu contour and they’re perfectly willing to let them just keep going!

It will be interesting to see what kind of format appears on the new 99.3 KCMD in Grants Pass. It certainly won’t be Comedy. 🙂
