The FCC has fined Religion KAPL-A/PHOENIX, OR. for a late license renewal application and remaining on the air after its license had expired. Owner APPLEGATE MEDIA has been fined $5,600 for the violation.

In a deal yet to be filed with the FCC, the SISKIYOU DAILY NEWS reports that JEFFERSON PUBLIC RADIO’s JPR FOUNDATION is buying Country KSYC-F/YREKA, CA from JAMISON-WOLF ENTERPRISES, INC. for an undisclosed price. JPR will move the News-Talk programming currently airing on its KSYC-A/YREKA to the FM side and lease the AM.

FCC Fines Two Stations For EEO Flubs
The FCC has socked ZIMMER RADIO’s JOPLIN, MO stations $8,000 for “apparently willfully and repeatedly” violating EEO rules by failing to comply with the recruitment, self-assessment, and public file requirements.
The COMMISSION has done the same to OPUS BROADCASTING/ORGEGON stations KROG/GRANT’S PASS, KCNA/CAVE JUNCTION, KRTA-A/MEDFORD; and KEZX-A/MEDFORD. Its EEO fine is $20,000.

ParticipantMapleton finally got smart and flipped 93.7 KTMT-FM back to it’s heritage CHR “Beat” format. Medford now has three CHR stations!

ParticipantDoes Craig (or anyone) know what year 93.7 KTMT-FM became CHR? I know it was sometime before 1988, which was the first time I heard the station.
