The Texas congressman asked whether there was anything the U.S. Forest Service could do “to change the course of the moon’s orbit or the Earth’s orbit around the sun.”

As ridiculous as the argument sounds to most people, this plays right into the denialist’s wheelhouse. The “sunspots cause climate change (more precisely, the lack of them)” canard is a favorite of theirs. This argument is “we can’t fix the sun, so why bother with anything else?”

Of course, the accepted reality among those who are not on the payroll of Big Carbon is that solar activity is NOT a significant factor in the sudden upswing of global temperatures.

Any idiot should know the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is who controls the moon, climate change, and the sun’s orbit around the earth. The Forest Service just rakes leaves.

    That is funny.

Yes, Randy, the earth is the center of the universe. And the sky is green. And yes, we humans will all be reincarnated. It really is soooo simple.

If you wear yellow sunglasses, you might think the sky IS green! Maybe, that’s what’s happening.
