Wha wha wha…Watch the dems contain this blip much better than the GOP did in Cleveland. And let’s seriously take a look at this “blip”. That is what it is. Unlike the disaster the GOP offered.
As a refresher: Terrible roll-out of VP Pence. Uproar during the electoral roll-call. The wife of the Donald committing plagiergism. Ted Cruz embarrassing the nominee. A dark, negative convention speech by the nominee, then a whimsical day-after attack of all things past by the nominee, again attacking Cruz and his wife.
The Dems are not off to a great start, but this pales in comparison to the disaster that the GOP convention was.July 24, 2016 at 7:02 pm #21912
The first half of this thread was a real Bacon-Dork circle jerk!

No, you don’t need to be tread lightly. Because the spooge is just piss heading for the drain. Weak.July 24, 2016 at 7:13 pm #21915
The mask has been ripped of the DNC and it’s called a “blip.”
They were cheating against Bernie. Not that I blame them. He’s a loon who wouldn’t have stood a chance. Americans aren’t going to vote for a Socialist (not yet, anyway).
But they didn’t give him the opportunity to have a fair fight and were working against him. He’s already sold out so I doubt you’ll hear much from him, but I don’t think his followers are going to be happy.
Besides that, what is most interesting that’s emerging from this scandal is the cozy relationship the DNC has with the media. It’s as if the media works for them. (Which many of us already knew).
I think this will be more than a “blip.”
And I also think the Republicans overall had a very successful convention.July 24, 2016 at 7:32 pm #21916

Hysterically ignorant and completely inaccurate assessments like that F&Bacon only underscore how out of touch with reality you are. The RNC convention was a total and dismal failure. Donald has gotten next no bounce of about one point. Electorally nothing has changed. Hillary did not lose any ground. Still looks like a Democratic landslide including the Senate. All the non partisan polls back this up. President Clinton. Get used to it, ace.July 24, 2016 at 11:41 pm #21923Chris_TaylorParticipant
Watched a video clip of Bernie’s response. He handled it just as I knew Bernie would. He’s already helping to move the DNC in the right direction.
Though I agree in part with Vit that Hillary had the numbers, that still doesn’t make what the leadership did was right. The good thing, and Andy points this out, this will not damage the DNC convention. It actually might help it because of how they are managing things.
I suspect Bernie will help Hillary with a good post-convention bump. Bernie’s a class act, sorry this happened to him, he deserved better.July 25, 2016 at 12:58 am #21927skepticalParticipant
At another time Bernie would have got my vote. This year was not it. It’s a real bummer that he’s 74.July 25, 2016 at 7:36 am #21936
Trump has surged in the polls.
I’ll let the experts here explain this.July 25, 2016 at 7:40 am #21939duxruleParticipant
It’s called the post-convention bounce. Hillary will get one, too. Anything else you need?July 25, 2016 at 7:44 am #21941
Now why would the leader of a failed superpower like to see Trump elected as president of the remaining superpower?

“It’s called the post-convention bounce. Hillary will get one, too. Anything else you need?”
That wasn’t supposed to happen:
“Hysterically ignorant and completely inaccurate assessments like that F&Bacon only underscore how out of touch with reality you are. The RNC convention was a total and dismal failure. Donald has gotten next no bounce of about one point.”
The “bounce” is substantially more than 1 point, and not because of a “dismal failure,” thought it could be that it’s not all because of a bounce. Trump has been trending upwards anyway.July 25, 2016 at 8:30 am #21948duxruleParticipant

Speaking of the Trump/Putin connection;
In light of Trump’s self professed admiration of Vladimir Putin, the ties of Trump’s top policy advisor Paul Manafort to pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine and now that it appears that Putin’s government is working if not for Trump, at least in his behalf, Intelligence personnel are getting pretty freaked out about having to start giving Trump security briefings.
Fortunately Obama has the last word as to what can be shared at least until the election is over.
