President Trump asked FBI director James B Comey, to shut down the federal investigation into Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T Flynn, in an Oval Office Meeting, in February according to a memo that Mr. Comey wrote shortly after the meeting.

“I hope you can let this go”, the president told Mr. Comey, according to the memo.

That’s just out from The New York Times.

    Goodbye, asshole.

And F&B – this admission means that firing Comey WAS illegal.

And other than blowhards like McConnell, GOP congressmen and senators are jumping ship, in the guise of saving their own skin (and at the same time, putting country over party).

Just when you think nothing can top the intel-sharing news, there’s news of him obstructing justice. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Someone is certainly lying about what was said.

It’s not the former director of the F.B.I.

If Trump “has tapes”, a ridiculous admission of potential criminality in of itself, he’d do well to release them. The nation is not holding it’s breath.

Fun fact: this is the exact same action, the willful obstruction of a government investigation, that ultimately forced Richard Nixon to resign.

As in, literally, the same thing.

    Your ball, GOP.

How come the NYT is telling us about the alleged memo? It gives the appearance of being a political ploy.

Or it could be a legitimate story that a reporter uncovered and wrote about. Lest you think it a partisan maneuver, the reporter that broke the story also broke the story about possible misuse of Hillary’s email in 2015.

If true, and I believe it to be true, this is the nail in the coffin for Trump. Like LG said, the ball is in the court of the GOP.

And I don’t envy the position of any of the GOP pussies that have the control to impeach him.

    Hey Bacon,

Is there anything that Hillary could be accused of that Trump could not be forgiven for?

The question of “obstruction of justice” is a legal one, and most media are reporting that nothing is certain here until new information is made available. That includes CNN, Fox, and MSNBC.

However, one thing is certain. Trump is performing extremely poorly as Potus. All the mess he is in is because of his doing. He basically sucks as a President and it becomes more evident on a daily basis.

What may be missing here is how all this may effect the midterms, just a year or so away. If Dems can get back control of the House, then all hell will break loose, if it doesn’t before then. Not to mention how all this is taking away from Trump’s agenda. Tax reform, Obamacare repeal, The Wall? Not anytime soon.

    WPE. (Worst President Ever).

Donald Trump better hope that there are no “memos” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

One senior staffer speaking anonymously to The Daily Beast: “I don’t see how (Donald) Trump isn’t completely fucked”.
