There was this articulate and principled voice in a documentary about the NY Times I recently watched on Netflix. It was journalist David Carr in the documentary “Page One”. And you follow him around as he amazingly cuts thru the changes and much of the crap that makes it into journalism today.
He wrote a weekly column in the NY Times about the media that I am now growing to love and wish I had known about earlier.
David Carr passed away last night, shortly after a great online interview with Edward Snowden, Jeff Greenwald and Laura Poitras, maker of the well done Snowden documentary, “Citizenfour“.
David Carr raised important points about the state of journalism today. I hope we can keep his cutting edge observations alive.
