ParticipantI listened to the station for a little while, and the intent of the branding became obvious. The music is upbeat; in fact, much of what I was hearing sounded like rock or like country with 1990s-styled electronic drum rhythms. “Tailgate” is just supposed to communicate this kind of party feel.

ParticipantI’m very surprised that there is no website and no stream, considering iHeart is named after their streaming app.
How does 103.7’s coverage compare to 102.3? Both stations will bump into Eugene signals, around the Wilsonville area.

ParticipantIt should be the same other than the wavelength. I’m sure I’m missing something.

ParticipantNot sure

ParticipantNo. It’s too close to Eugene and Seattle, not to mention K103 and The Fish.

ParticipantHere’s All Access take on this:
iHeartMedia Launches ‘Tailgate Country’ In Portland, OR
iHEARTMEDIA has launched Country KFBW-HD3 (TAILGATE COUNTRY)/PORTLAND, OR.
“TAILGATE COUNTRY” will compete with ENTERCOM Country KWJJ (99.5 THE WOLF) and ALPHA MEDIA Country KUPL (98.7 THE BULL).
ALL ACCESS ears in the market say the station is running commercial free and playing uptempo, “tailgate-type” songs.

ParticipantOh goodie a third country station in Portland and no active rock station.
Thank God for SiriusXM satellite radio.

ParticipantDriving down to Salem last night I got them as far as the Outlet stores in Woodburn. That’s where I started to get KNRQ cutting in.

ParticipantSeems as though the RDS for K279BO is coming through with a PTY of “Jazz”
Signal was decent out East past Sandy towards Mount Hood on 26

Participant“Signal was decent out East past Sandy towards Mount Hood on 26”
Once you get high enough in elevation for the signal to clear the hills around Boring, there should be plenty enough field strength to light up any receiver.
“as far as the Outlet stores in Woodburn.”
Not that far outside the 60 dBu contour and along the I-5 corridor, to that point, there are no high elevations to cause problems.

Yep, noticed that on 26 through Boring, as you get closer to Gresham signal degrades until you get over the hill…similar to K272EL 102.3
