On this day in 1984, Bruce Springsteen released the album, ‘Born In The USA’, which became the best-selling album of 1985 in the United States (and also Springsteen’s most successful album ever). I remember seeing Bruce and the E Street Band in 1974 at one of WSAN’s (where I worked) Roxy Theater (550 seats) shows and it is no surprise to me what’s happened since.
Chris Squire, 67, founding member and longtime bassist for the progressive rock group, Yes, passed away from leukemia. Chris, whose nickname “The Fish” is associated with many of his works including his solo record, Fish Out of Water, and the solo piece “The Fish (Schindleria Praematurus)” from the 1971 Yes record Fragile.
Chris was the only member of Yes to play on every one of their 21 studio albums.
