London is planning a “40th Anniversary of Punk” celebration. This has been an excessive amount of mainstreaming of Punk for Joseph Corré, son of Sex Pistols manager Malcolm Mclaren. In protest, Corré and fashion designer Vivienne Westwood have set fire to Corré’s entire collection of Punk memorabilia, valued at £5 million (approx. US $7 million). The burning Punk memorabilia, along with a few effigies, sailed on a barge along the River Thames.
