The KRKT translator in Salem went dark when KWLZ went on the air in West LINN.

The translator didn’t interfere with the 65 DBU contour of KWLZ, which means KRKT could have kept it on the air.

Why did KRKT take its Salem translator off the air, when it had the legal right to keep it on?

The signal in Salem at 96.7 is poor. There is no point now for having the translator on the air.

I thought the 96.7 signal was from a distant FM station.

I used to listen to KRKT because the translator had a great signal in Salem at 96.3.

Translators are worth their weight in gold nowadays Impossible to get a new one. Just keep it active for future use.
