More details over on the REC Networks Facebook page:

REC is hearing about many FCC inspections of LPFM stations in Enforcement Region 3 (Western USA). REC policy is to not announce areas where inspections are taking place. Normally, Enforcement will contact the station prior to the inspection.

In Portland, KBSF-LP was recently inspected and a Notice of Violation was issued for EAS violations. In this case, the station was found to not have an EAS Handbook at the main operating position of the station and the station’s EAS equipment was monitoring a station other than the ones in the state EAS plan (and they had not pursued a waiver to monitor a different station). The LPFM has 20 days to respond to the NOV to advise of the steps they are taking to remedy the situation.

All LPFM stations are advised to take the REC LPFM Checklist Training located at https://recnet.com/checklist and to print the checklist form and do your own self-inspections periodically (monthly) to assure your station remains in compliance. If you have any questions, please first check the REC website as there are many FAQ answers on there or ask in the LPFM or LPFM Tech Advice Facebook groups.
