ParticipantThis is perfect!!
After watching and listening to Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for president, we have decided we won’t report on Trump’s campaign as part of The Huffington Post’s political coverage. Instead, we will cover his campaign as part of our Entertainment section. Our reason is simple: Trump’s campaign is a sideshow. We won’t take the bait. If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you’ll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette.

ParticipantAwesome!
Appropriate too. Respect is something earned, and what somebody may have in the bank has nothing to do with that.

ParticipantWhat else would you expect from a liberal rag? Anything to disparage the person at the top of the national polls.

ParticipantSometimes, Deane, the truth hurts.
In all seriousness, what do you think of Trump’s bid, what he’s done and said thus far, and his chances??

It doesn’t sound liberal at all. The Republicans wish he would STFU and the liberals want he to keep talking.

ParticipantDeane, he’s a fucking clown! That he’s at the top of the polls reflects extremely poorly on the Republican party.
I didn’t write “shit in hair”, “stupid party, who thinks you are stupid” and all those other things just for fun you know.
Trump is at the top, because the GOP decided to employ “big tent” and validate every nut, racist, bigot, theocrat, clown, and moron they could find!
And they did that to win elections to secure more favorable economic policy for the wealthy, who want to call the shots and reduce government to a mere police force and military for protection too.
Damn right Liberals want him talking! I sincerely hope Trump can go big enough to make the nation very seriously question some basic realities in play today. Our media rarely discusses meaningful party differences, always trotting out “but the liberals” and “both sides” near constantly to the point of there being actual history and bizarro world.
Every Sunday, “when the serious discussions happen” (cough), who do we get? People who are bat shit nuts! Wrong so often they would be laughed out of any real job in a second and asked never to come back wrong.
Know what I think is entertainment?
Trump probably watched that shit as much as his fan base did and now here he is wealthy enough to make him difficult to ignore, right at the time when the real movers and shakers know damn well the whole shell game depends on the fragile illusion and if it breaks, a lot of other stuff does too.
Just one little lie, “both sides” would undo this whole mess! Set that one aside, along with “always two sides to every story” and the discussion would be AMAZING!
…which, BTW, is precisely what Bernie is doing. He’s actually having that rational, not bat shit, policy discussion, and he doesn’t even have shit in his hair.
Know who that worries?
Third Way Democrats, who are on board with the same, but a little nicer, vision of oligarchy. Trump could fuck it up for them too! Bernie is making Clinton look like some relic on autopilot, bought and sold.
That, in itself, is pretty amazing.
Republicans are fucked up right now. They can’t govern, and where they can, they won’t, because even doing that little bit of sane, rational work threatens the illusion they’ve built their base on, and that base is committed. If they lose them, they lose it all.
The result of that is not one positive policy vision statement as to how we might improve the lives of ordinary Americans. No jobs, no infrastructure, no nothing! Just rape and pillage and the poors can shut the fuck up, because they should be so lucky the raping and the pillaging going on results in a few scraps they might somehow find a way to turn into gold…
Jesus man. Trump is ALL ENTERTAINMENT. Hate to say it, but he’s very likely to perform even worse than W ever did, which is why he’s never going to win the election.
Really, the question is just how to push him aside without hosing the rest of the party, and that happens to be an increasingly tough question. Trump has just enough balls and ego and dollars to simply refuse to do it!
Entertainment indeed!

Participant“In all seriousness, what do you think of Trump’s bid, what he’s done and said thus far, and his chances??”
He’s on top because the is telling it like it is instead of wallowing around patronizing voters.
I think his day in the sun will end long before the convention, but I applaud him for taking a stand. No one else has guts enough to.

He’s on top because Republicans are just that fucking stupid right now.

ParticipantGeez Deane, when hopping aboard the clown car, sporting the classic combover is an ideal way to stand out among your fellow clowns.

Participant“He’s on top because the is telling it like it is instead of wallowing around patronizing voters.”
Yeah, like thoses wetbacks are rapists and murderers, and John McCain is no war hero. Telling it like it is!
And I hope he continues to do so.
July 19, 2015 at 1:04 pm #12428Brianl
ParticipantHis rant against McCain is pure idiocy. Whether you like or loathe McCain’s politics, what he went through in Vietnam, and questioning his patriotism, cannot be questioned.
Dumber than a sack of hammers.
July 19, 2015 at 2:12 pm #12431Deane Johnson
Participant“questioning his patriotism”
And he did that how?
And of course, lost on the liberals, is the basis for why he is attaching McCain. He believes McCain has not done the job in his position in the Senate for Veterans. He believes he’s a person in a position to do something about our country’s shabby treatment of our Veterans and should be doing it instead of spending all his time on TV soundbites.
July 19, 2015 at 6:06 pm #12435missing_kskd
ParticipantHe’s right about that. Still bat shit though.
July 20, 2015 at 6:55 pm #12440Vitalogy
ParticipantDonald Trump is soaring over his GOP rivals in a new nationwide Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted amid his controversial comments about Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) “war hero” status.
According to the just-released poll, Trump — with 24 percent support among likely Republican voters — holds a comfortable, double-digit lead over nearest competitor Scott Walker, who captures 13 percent support.
Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee, and Sen. Marco Rubio round up the top 5 with 12, 8, and 7 percentage points of support, respectively. Sen. Rand Paul, meanwhile, sits in sixth place with 5 percentage points.”
I say go Trump go! Keep on talkin!!
July 20, 2015 at 6:57 pm #12441Vitalogy
ParticipantAnd at this point, there’s no denying he will be a part of the debates. Can’t wait!
