As beatable as Romney was winnable.March 11, 2015 at 6:03 pm #7993jerry1949Spectator
It’s hard to beat an incumbent.
Anyway, what’s so great about Hillary? There is nothing compelling there. She’s boring. A fence post has more personality and charm.
I think Bush could beat her and I think he’ll appeal to some democrats, if he gets the nomination.
But it’s far from being a slam dunk for Hillary to be the dem candidate. My bet is she’ll be a bridesmaid once again. Her sense of entitlement and being above the rules will not be enabled by all democrats.March 11, 2015 at 6:06 pm #7994Listener_PeteParticipant
I find it interesting that although there have been several GOP Benghazi investigations targeting HRC, that it was not known that she had a private email until now. That is some investigating
Well then they aren’t very smart then, because the information about her private email was known back in March 2013. The g reason it’s known now is because The New York Times Publishing the following story:March 11, 2015 at 6:24 pm #7996

This topic is probably not going to be discussed much, but I think it may matter, incorrectly, in 2016.
Hillary is looking old. Yeah, men of her age look old too. However, our society still has many bias issues, and age is one of them. And females take the brunt.
Could an aging female candidate be at a disadvantage because of it? The question, while politically incorrect, is valid. (However, didn’t hurt M. Thatcher in the UK)March 11, 2015 at 8:19 pm #7999VitalogyParticipant
I don’t think age or looks will matter.
It will come down to R vs D and the electoral college. Right now the EC favors Hillary (or a generic D).
Even Duxrule will happily vote for Hillary because the other option is incredibly worse.March 11, 2015 at 9:01 pm #8003edselehrParticipant

So a little under half of Republicans, and a little under a fifth of Democrats think it’s “very serious”, and that’s what?
23 fucking percent of us, or thereabouts.March 12, 2015 at 10:56 am #8027AmusParticipant

What about the Independents?
What about Democrats in power? I bet it’s 90%.March 12, 2015 at 4:34 pm #8042
Would you like some cheese to go with that whine?March 12, 2015 at 11:26 pm #8051skepticalParticipant
No independent in their right mind will automatically vote for the stupid party. That’s why they’re independents in the first place. They’ll look at what the Democrats do first and if looks dubious, they’ll hold their nose and go vote for the GOP. Hillary appeals to indies in a way that Warren, or even Biden does not.March 12, 2015 at 11:46 pm #8052
Much like everything the Republicans do – shutdowns, phony scandals, Obama hating – the Iran letter is already making some members of the GOP fear a major backlash for trying to undermine the President.March 13, 2015 at 1:13 am #8056skepticalParticipant
Even Eliot Spitzer has a chance of beating the current GOP 9. That’s how bad the GOP stinks!
Spitzer: I can beat Jeb Bush by this much.
