The FBI said Friday that the man accused of killing nine African American parishioners at a historically black church in Charleston should not have been able to purchase a gun.

Officials said a background check failure allowed Dylann Roof to illegally purchase a .45-caliber Glock handgun on April 11, eight days after he turned 21, at Shooter’s Choice in West Columbia, South Carolina . Roof had previously acknowledged drug possession, according to the FBI.

Well, there goes the lib argument that background checks will stop gun tragedies. Typical government incompetence.

And passing more gun laws will stop crime. NOT.

No, but they are very highly likely to reduce it.

The idea that we just have to live with this is completely unacceptable.

Besides, SCOTUS ruled we have the individual right to own a gun. Many call that an affirmation of a right already expressed in the Constitution. I agree.

    Seriously. That’s a good decision.

Now that we’ve settled that, it’s time to get to work on responsibilities. Those go hand in hand with rights.

    SCOTUS affirmed that too.

Eventually, it’s going to start. And as we deal with it, one step at a time, we will get the numbers down and live in a safer place.
