Wow, for the very first time in I don’t know how long, I heard EAS tones and then a message that had no huge noise overhead and was intelligible. Imagine that!
Heard on the OPB live stream at 09:16 … the female voice was loud and clear and said the test originated from Clackamas County. I’m curious if the test was a success on air also.

An EAS test originating from Jackson County just aired on KRVM. It was very clear.
Sounds like the Internet feed
There’s also the text to speech method.
Here is the KBPS aircheck.
KBPS needs to tweak the 2-tone detection level so the originating tones are eliminated.
Good point, but I like all the tones to go on the air. During in person KBPS instruction, students get a better idea how the Sage Digital Endec unit operates.
“KBPS needs to tweak the 2-tone detection level so the originating tones are eliminated.”
I’m no expert but that sounds like standard use of EAS tones. What’s in the sound clip that’s extraneous?
