Dr. Toni Grant Dead At 72
Dr. TONI GRANT, the longtime KABC-A/LOS ANGELES radio psychologist, passed away MARCH 27th in BEVERLY HILLS, CA, reports the LOS ANGELES TIMES. GRANT was 72.
GRANT was a private practitioner when she began appearing on BILL BALLANCE’s infamous “FEMININE FORUM” on KGBS-A (now KTNQ-A) and KABC-A in the ’70s. She got her own show at KABC in 1975, and was syndicated starting in 1982 by ABC, then MUTUAL, with her flagship moving to crosstown KFI-A in 1986. The show ended in 1989 but returned in 1997 and aired until 2001.
The movie “CHOOSE ME,” which featured a radio psychologist character played by GENEVIEVE BUJOLD, was inspired in part by GRANT.
