Well, there it is.
If only this were the sole shooting of a black suspect by a white police officer…November 24, 2014 at 6:32 pm #3586paulwalkerParticipant
Rare event where two of the three big network affiliates broke into their most popular programs, except ABC apparently thinks “Dancing With The Stars” is more important. To them, I guess.November 24, 2014 at 6:37 pm #3588jerry1949Spectator
If only we could judge this situation by the facts instead of skin color.November 24, 2014 at 6:37 pm #3589November 24, 2014 at 6:43 pm #3590
I can’t disagree with that, F&B. But unfortunately this kind of shooting is not a singular event.
The trend of deadly enforcement of the law by white majority law enforcement departments in black majority communities should give us pause.November 24, 2014 at 6:51 pm #3592
An unarmed kid killed for shoplifting. And a lack of regard for the life of a black person by a white cop. And the white DA with a history of protecting cops. Shocker!
Darren Wilson may have escaped criminal charges, but his career as a cop is over. And he will certainly face a civil suit.
Let’s face it, it’s a failure on the side of a cop when an unarmed kid gets shot and killed.November 24, 2014 at 6:54 pm #3593jerry1949Spectator
He was killed because he threatened the life of a police officer. He was not killed because of the robbery.November 24, 2014 at 6:54 pm #3594
“And he will certainly face a civil suit.”
And they call that a “reverse O.J.”. (sorry – dark humor)November 24, 2014 at 6:58 pm #3596
“He was killed because he threatened the life of a police officer.”
This is Trayvon Martin Part Deux. A white person with some degree of authority feels threatened by a black person, and the white person chooses deadly force as a response. And the legal system validates that choice. F&B, can’t you sympathize with the frustration and anger of the black community?November 24, 2014 at 6:59 pm #3598
The cop initiated the contact, not the dead kid. Since when is walking in the street a crime?
As usual, Mr Pro-life is here defending the lack of respect for the life of an unarmed kid.
Save the fetus shoot the unarmed kid.November 24, 2014 at 7:08 pm #3599paulwalkerParticipant
Things starting to get out of control in Ferguson, MO. Gunshots. We will see how this plays out. Remember this is metro St. Louis, with a large population that may or may not get involved. Let’s hope for peaceful protests.November 24, 2014 at 7:10 pm #3600
It’s way too easy for these kind of protests to get out of control. St. Louis could use an MLK right about now.
edit add: Obama goes immediately on TV to do his best MLK in order to quell violence tonight.November 24, 2014 at 8:23 pm #3601HerbSpectator
Nice try, leftists.
Three of the reported inquest members who voted for acquittal were African-American.
The death of any human being is saddening.
Don’t commit strong arm robbery, then try to take a police officer’s gun.November 24, 2014 at 8:53 pm #3603duxruleParticipant
Nice try, Herb. Only four dissenters are needed to spike an indictment, and they’re not going to tell us who did or didn’t vote to indict.November 24, 2014 at 8:59 pm #3605
Thank you Herbert Duncan for reminding us of a couple of things. First, you’re not really pro-life. Like other self proclaimed pro-lifers, you have a history of siding against unarmed children versus armed men. Pro-lifers would defend the unarmed, not the armed.
Second, you line up with all the other christian racists who celebrate another white cop getting away with an unjustified killing, because authority.
All of this over some Swisher Sweets? A death sentence for shoplifting?? Walking in the middle of the street to getting shot in the head?
Better trained PIGS would have not allowed things to escalate.
