The closest that Trump ever got to this kind of controversy was the Access Hollywood “pussy grabber” tape, and as potentially damaging as that should have been, he was able to ride it out and move on to the win. Of course, there were some Hillary email distractions that helped (Thanks, Comey!).

This time, it’s all Trump, and no one else to deflect to, though god knows he’ll try.

I don’t think there has ever been a more politically crippled president inaugurated in modern times. As Paul said earlier, this is becoming a very interesting month.

Expect this to blow up bigtime in coming days. This one ain’t going away. Trump may take the oath, but this will be one of the strangest ones in history.

Then again, I lost track of how many times during the campaign Trump would say something or do something, and his detractors would pipe up and say, “THIS IS DIFFERENT! He’s done!” The weekend the Access Hollywood tape came out, people weren’t debating whether Trump would lose or not (that was just assumed) – they were wondering whether he’d even stay in the race. And then look what happened…

These are strange times, hard to predict. This story could easily be gone in a few days, unless some concrete proof (like a video in a hotel room) emerges.

Good and valid point Andrew. I also don’t know how this one will play out. But this one “DOES SEEM DIFFERENT”, to use your italics. Even if Trump gets knocked out, it leaves us with Pence, who is more conservative than Trump, and even a bigger reason to get involved with the 2018 midterms.

I confess: this lurid story has a ring of truth to it. This creep has done some very twisted personally vindictive things to people over the years. It fits with his personality.

But it still may not be true – and even if it is, there may be absolutely no way to prove it.

I’m afraid this will be yet another “egg-on-the-face” situation for the anti-Trumpsters.

Recounts didn’t work. Begging electors to be faithless didn’t work. A false scandal isn’t going to work either.

    It’s time to accept reality:

Trump is going to be sworn in as President of the United States.

    He will not be impeached.

If God-willing he is in good health in 4 years he will be easily reelected.

And lastly but not leastly, he’s going to be a very good president.

So what you are saying is that April showers bring May flowers?

Trump is a national embarrassment and a danger to himself and others. It’s not the minority opinion.

CNN never reported the Trump allegations were true. They just offered there was a briefing that took place. But Trump lashed out at CNN. Fake News is the new buzz term, but CNN never offered such.

Trump, our next President, seems to be more concerned with calling out CNN and Meryl Streep than addressing the major issues confronting the country. I am sick, really sick of this man even before his swearing in. What a fucking joke for this country. (BTW, that is probably the first time I have used the “F” word on this site. So be it.)

There is something fishy about the Trump/Russia relationship. Not sure whether it has to do with future billion dollar deals or if it has to do with concern of blackmail. But something is not right.

If Trump has lied about any of this and is proven wrong (likely by video or audio) then he’s done.

Meanwhile, the GOP Senate is on the swift path to destroying the ACA, throwing millions of people off of their only healthcare insurance option, throwing away consumer protections, going back to the days when insurance companies can deny coverage for a pre-existing condition, and a number of other ill thought out decisions.

They have no plan of any kind to address these issues. It will cause economic chaos and result in real, human suffering.

They’re so proud of this fine work, they did it in the middle of the night.

Well, the GOP’s answer for the uninsured, those who have pre-existing conditions with which they wouldn’t be able to get health care, the huge swath to whom it would be totally unaffordable, is summed up with these three letters:

    DIE.

For a bunch of “right-to-lifers”, the ultimate hypocrisy.

The more destruction the GOP and drumpf cause in the beginning of what is to be drumpf’s only term (which may likely end before 4 years), especially the first 18 months, is the reason why bacon’s reality check is so much a fantasy it would take an 8 way hit of LSD to believe. The midterms are traditionally when the voting public (and the public in general through protests, media appearances, etc.) reacts to government malfeasance which under drumpf will surely hit new heights.

Let’s look at bacon’s fantasy because it is important to know how the lesser educated, rural, nofuckingclue voters think:

Trump is going to be sworn in as President of the United States.

Yes, Vern, he will. That part was inevitable and accepted by the lion’s share of those against drumpf, both those who voted and those who did not. You’re attempt to paint everyone as in denial of that is just more of the excrement that pours from your keyboard in almost every post you write.

    He will not be impeached.

Right now, there is little official evidence that has been discovered to really know if the GOP will just jettison drumpf like a bad case of indigestion or not. After all, they have Pence to fall back on, so if drumpf blocks the destruction of the U.S. that the GOP has planned, they’ll off him like a worn shoe.

If God-willing he is in good health in 4 years he will be easily reelected.

Nope. No chance. The drumpf end around play will not work a second time. He can’t win enough votes without the Kremlin’s help, again, and the next Democrat to run won’t make the same mistakes Hillary did. Your fantasy has no credibility, Vern.

And lastly but not leastly, he’s going to be a very good president.

Laughable (as is most everything you post here). drumpf enters the Presidency with the lowest approval rating of any President-elect ever. Every day his credibility decreases. Here’s a great article why drumpf is never going to win an election again, and the reason is clear: He has no intention of serving anyone but himself (regardless of what he says, what his ‘team’ says, or what the remaining GOP shills are saying (there are less of them on the drumpf wagon every day).

I remember how laughable it was when I predicted Trump would win (with 305 electoral votes–missed it by a hair) and that the Republicans would keep the Senate.

    Are you still laughing?
