Mike Ragz, who replaced Chad Doing on afternoon drive on 750 The Game, is out as host of “In the Huddle.” His show is replaced by “Afternoons With Fletcher and Chop.”
Also, the musical chairs of network affiliates continues. After 1080 The Fan moved most of its’ daytime ESPN programming to 910 and renamed it 910 ESPN Portland, the CBS Sports Radio network started this week on 750. The Game dropped the NBC Sports Radio network in favor of CBS.
That move makes a bit of sense, since CBS Sports Radio hosts Jim Rome. On the other hand, 750 carries Fox Sports Radio’s Dan Patrick. Rip City Radio 620 is a Fox affiliate, but since 750 held the rights to Patrick, 620 dropped the replay of Fox Sports Morning (airs 3 to 6 a.m. Pacific time) in favor of Bunker and Danforth. Lots of cross-pollination going on.
Apparently, that deal was brokered or encouraged by Cowherd between Fox and Entercom. As someone pointed out previously, Cowherd is not a Fox Sports Radio property; his TV/radio simulcast is separate, so for radio in this market, he was a free agent.
Cowherd has always had a good relationship with The Fan, and they have co-hosted recent visited he’s paid back to town.
