Participant94.1 KXIX is no longer receivable in the hills of Eugene, while 92.9 KRXF is coming in, as KXIX used to.

KRXF Doubles Power In Bend, OR
BEND RADIO GROUP Alternative KRXF/BEND, OR has moved up the dial from 92.7 FM to 92.9 FM.
KRXP MD KRIS METZDORF told ALL ACCESS, “We went from 50,000 watts to 100,000 watts so you can imagine how much better our signal is now everywhere including the outer lying areas of CENTRAL OREGON. Our call letters are still KRXF.”

ParticipantTo be exact, KRXF was 18,500. I now understand why Kris doesn’t use her last name on the air. While I enjoy a lot of what “92/9 FM” plays, I think their format is a bit too eclectic. They would see higher ratings with a more hit-driven “New Rock” format.

ParticipantHmmm…”Hit-Driven” Alternative Rock. If it’s a hit, what exactly makes it alternative? It’s thinking like this that has put this format into the dumper, perhaps?

Bend Radio/Oregon Names Wes Davis Chief Engineer
BEND RADIO GROUP has named LEE WESLEY DAVIS Chief Engineer/Operator of its CENTRAL OREGON cluster of four FMs and one AM. Previously, DAVIS spent five years as the VP/Engineering for NETXMEDIA GROUP.
“With the passing of DAVE YOUNG last spring, we knew we had some very big engineering shoes to fill,” Owner/Co-CEO JIM GROSS said. “To have found someone of WES’ caliber was truly a godsend. WES is a great engineer and broadcaster, he understands programming, and he’s a perfect fit for CENTRAL OREGON’s communities and outdoor lifestyle. WES is also a great person and someone to whom our staff has instantly bonded. He’s already making a huge and positive difference in our organization.”

ParticipantNow, hopefully he can get rid of that nasty high-pitched background noise on Power 94, and KSJJ 102.9!

ParticipantI’m thinking, 94.1 KXIX should move to Awbrey Butte, to maximize it’s C2 signal, and better serve the population areas in Central Oregon. Awbrey Butte C2’s like 101.7 KLRR and 104.1 KWPK, provide much better coverage of Bend, Sisters, and the Cascades.

HORIZON BROADCASTING GROUP LLC is selling FM translator K283BH/BEND, OR to SUMMIT BROADCASTING GROUP, LLC for forgiveness of debt.
October 21, 2010 at 6:42 am #1049the_radio_guy
ParticipantI wonder what Summit has planned for the 104.5 translator is Bend. Horizon will no longer need 104.5 to rebroadcast “Lite 95.1” KLTW, when the station moves to Awbrey Butte at 95.7.
