After 47 years anchoring and reporting the news on television and radio in Seattle and Portland… I’ve retired! I’ve outlasted most of my colleagues and I’ve somehow have managed to make dough and not spend too much of it.
It’s my hope that the youngins comin’ up will be broadcasting online and on podcasts and Gawd knows what else to keep this fun industry alive and thriving.
Many thanks to all the groovy souls I’ve worked with over the decades. I’ve told Marcia that I’m now officially underfoot.
So long, everybody!
…Brooks
p.s. my resume is pretty short:
KTW AM/FM Seattle
KIRO TV/AM/FM Seattle
KATU TV Portland
KEX Portland
KPAM Portland
Congrats, Brooks!
Queen Anne, lots of wine, and good times…you always were a true pro.
Congratulations Brooks on your retirement… Good advice for the young folks coming up – podcasts are growing leaps and bounds –.. Good luck and enjoy, you earned it !
Cheers!
If you behave yourself maybe Marcia will drop you off to play radio at KPAM once in a while whenever she needs a minder for you. I suspect that’s why we saw Norm Gunning periodically…
Congrats on your retirement!
47 years in broadcasting and a short list of stations, speaks volumes in this vagabond medium. Congratulations Brooks.
