The American Meteorological Society has released a new report entitled “Explaining Extreme Events in 2016 from a Climate Perspective.” The report concludes that droughts, flooding, and heatwaves experienced in 2016 cannot be explained without human-induced climate change.

    yup
Last winter was the warmest in the Northern Hemisphere and rather colder with less temperature extremes in the Southern Hemisphere.

Then the near record El Nino collapsed within one week.

Jupiter and Mars polar ice caps were shrinking until early this year.

The Ruskis are right. The solar system is now cooling again.
Those pretty purple sunsets over the Pacific Ocean you’ve been seeing past few years ain’t natural. SO2 floating over from East Asia. Chinese folks gotta have smart phones too.
Another politically incorrect fact not reported is sea levels have been falling for the past three years. It ain’t “isostatic rebounding”.

    Sea levels are falling

Ain’t sayin’ hupersons don’t affect weather. When I was a young man, Amazon rain forest devastation resulted in African Sahel devastation. Wasn’t until over a decade ago that the Russkis and Mericans figured out ‘Weather Wars’ weren’t such a good idea
For folks who enjoy medium and short wave DX listening, Mr. Sol ain’t been behaving like he should for the past 13 years.

It’s not what it is. It’s what it can made to look like. If you knew the truth, they wouldn’t let you live very long. If there is a God, She’s pissed. Especially at Kalifornia.

“IN the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!

More observations concerning climate change. Something about the “arctic vortex”.

Vox? The Verge? NASA Kids Club?
    From The Verge:

What’s the connection between lake-effect snow and global warming? First, as the world warms, it’s harder for ice to form, and it isn’t lasting as long. For 15 of the last 20 years, Great Lakes ice cover has been below the long-term average. pic.twitter.com/RUDn5dXcoe

    From the people living there:

The record-setting snow has made December 2017 the snowiest month in Erie, by more than 30 inches, on National Weather Service records dating back to the late 1800s

NASA, NOAA, NWS and, to less extent, USGS are political jokes. Very expensive jokes.

Vitriology: As an American, you retain the right to remain stupid. Don’t need to make a public spectacle of it … again.

“NASA, NOAA, NWS and, to less extent, USGS are political jokes.”

Your post reveals how limited and sandboxed your thought process is.

I’ll not waste time proposing we(I) explain the basics which you clearly are unable to understand. Just remember that science is about the preponderance of factual evidence, not political folly. In fact, your posts in this thread are the only ‘jokes’ to be found.

And your level of intellect is astounding. Instead of debating the ‘facts’, you resort to name calling. Typical ethos rhetoric and not unexpected. I think of you as man and take away reason and accountability. You argue like a girl. Tell me, was your Mother the dominant adult during your childhood?
Synchronous “Global Climate Change” is a fact. The Sahara once was a tropical paradise. The ground yer standin’ on once was covered by a permanent ice sheet. But to believe IT’s cause is homotropic is a religious act. Prove IT exists. You can’t using empirical standards. Takes faith to not actually see IT but accept IT is all around you. State funded environmental priests and priestesses preach n’ teach IT then become excited when their IT is challenged and call those who disagree as unscientific Luddites. At one time, everyone knows you cannot grow a crop a mile above sea level.
If you knew the true reasons for a ‘Carbon Tax’: “Soylent Green. It’s people!”

Nice try, cbaravelli, but your arguments to the negative have already been debunked. They aren’t even the questions you should be asking.

Directly contradicting much of the Trump administration’s position on climate change, 13 federal agencies unveiled an exhaustive scientific report on Friday that says humans are the dominant cause of the global temperature rise that has created the warmest period in the history of civilization.

Over the past 115 years global average temperatures have increased 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit, leading to record-breaking weather events and temperature extremes, the report says. The global, long-term warming trend is “unambiguous,” it says, and there is “no convincing alternative explanation” that anything other than humans — the cars we drive, the power plants we operate, the forests we destroy — are to blame.

The report was approved for release by the White House, but the findings come as the Trump administration is defending its climate change policies. The United Nations convenes its annual climate change conference next week in Bonn, Germany, and the American delegation is expected to face harsh criticism over President Trump’s decision to walk away from the 195-nation Paris climate accord and top administration officials’ stated doubts about the causes and impacts of a warming planet.

“This report has some very powerful, hard-hitting statements that are totally at odds with senior administration folks and at odds with their policies,” said Philip B. Duffy, president of the Woods Hole Research Center. “It begs the question, where are members of the administration getting their information from? They’re obviously not getting it from their own scientists.”

Nope. You’re terribly misguided on this one. Period. Not even going to discuss it further other then to point out that your lack of common sense is self defining and in this case self defeating. Your good with words but loose with relevance and short on substance. Your contribution in this thread is rated ø.

Nice try, cbaravelli, but your arguments to the negative have already been debunked.
    By who?
NYT story you quote actually was commissioned by the White House in 2015 with the EPA in the lead. The same Agency which mandated any water pond is ‘navigable’ and therefore until Federal regulations and control. Initial inter-agency budget was set at $220M which soon escalates.
Original draft was uploaded to a “nonprofit internet digital library” [wikileaks] in early January 2017 but received little attention until it was published by The New York Times 17 June with a final draft on 6 August.
The inconvenient truth from last Summer on the report’s reliance on suspect research done in the U.K. and Sweden. Thumbs on thermometers. Report relies on two 2015 and 2016 University of Georgia exercises in “attribution science”, a new and growing field using extensive algorithms and computing power, to produce future weather patterns. Some kids at Brookdale Community College, with assistance from nearby Monmouth University, using the UG data found a mini-ice age is due near 2050-2060 before prediction models again increase world mean temperatures.
Won’t go deep into the Congress hearing concerning National Climate Assessment during the late summer. Three ‘crackpots’ from University of Iowa, Stanford University and Washington State University (who later is ‘retired’ from teaching by WSU Administration) raise more inconveniences. North America was warmer in the 1930s’ and 1990s’ than now (among other ‘facts’).
    Facts or fictions:
Will Manhattan island be under water by 2050?
Will Manhattan island be colder than Mars tonight? Which one is true?

    Gimme that ol’ time religion.

    What questions?
…said Philip B. Duffy, president of the Woods Hole Research Center. “It begs the question, where are members of the administration getting their information from? They’re obviously not getting it from their own scientists.” ???
A rhetorical question by definition without an answer. Like asking how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
Woods Hole Research Center? How many millions in Fedzilla ‘research’ dollars did they receive? Andy, you know better.

National Weather Service is said to have said Miami – FL experiences the warmest or second warmest, depending on how you measure temperature, year last year using data from Miami International Airport dating back to 1895:

Most of the evidence presented here is anecdotal, nothing more, nothing less. We tend to take minor slivers of our planet and make judgements based on a locality that does not represent the big picture. By all records, the planet is indeed warming, despite Anderson Cooper freezing his gonads in Times Square.

Anecdotal anomalies…That’s what makes the topic fun!
I believe there is “Climate Change”. My generation grew up with respected scientists such as the great Carl Sagan (“billions and billions of stars”) warning anyone who would listen about impending doom from global cooling from increasing SO2 air pollution. You now know my skepticism concerning only huperson activity affects climate on a global scale.
However, planet is warming since the 1650 – 1750 AD “mini ice age” which spurred Europe towards social democracy, the industrial revolution and mass migration to the New World.
The Gospel according to Gore was, at the time, correct. During his time as Vice President, global temperatures spike to the warmest or second warmest in recent human herstory. 1999 is the peak year. His latest book, Truth to Power is excellent. Written in Junior High level American English with big and colorful pictures. Unfortunately, the book is not selling well but it’s in every local school and library.
    ‘Anecdotal’ truth is here:

IPCC models are running too hot. To err is human. To really mess things up requires computers.
All I know is 2,497 years ago, Greek hoplites stopped a Persian invasion at a pass 600 meters from the Aegean Sea. Now, the sea shoreline is >3600 meters away. 1,852 years ago, Romans were growing grapes and making wine from Cornwall to Kent. British wine making has re-emerged in the past 20 years.
All this Joseph Goebbels / Henny Penny world government nonsense to save the planet from ourselves and for our posterity should have you more concerned.
