Yesterday, I noticed that Me TV FM is no longer on 104.5. “La Urbana” has taken its place

Yes. La Urbana’s Icecast server now includes the tagline “URBANA 104.5 – 1010 AM” (http://149.28.12.174:8050/)

No paperwork submitted yet to ascertain if it is a station sale to Bustos or just an LMA. Considering the ownership group has Northern Virginia media lawyers behind it I am sure if there is any paperwork it will be filed.

Although the old MeTV Portland website is now gone if you still need KXXP MeTV tunes the audio is here for now:
    https://ice9.securenetsystems.net/KXXP

Better record that audio ID while you can…

We have yet another reason to be thankful for KBPS, KISN-LP, etc. to keep the format alive in Portland. ( The “MeTV” format is still available on several stations across the nation that stream to the Internet.)

I did not anticipate that Me TV FM, with its eclectic playlist, would last very long. The first clue was that when the station signed on in Portland, it broadcast almost no commercials. The second clue came about two weeks ago, when the station was still running spots referencing Valentine’s Day products at a major pharmacy chain.

For METVfm withdrawl syndrome you will have to hunt around. One choice is 99.1HD2 in Milwaukee. Some affiliates are Geoblocked.

It does not appear to be a nationally-synchronized live format – just generalized content. Yes, KXXP will be missed .

(Bustos’ ad load is pretty low right now too. Tons of PSAs as all the concert/event promo work dried up.)

Cheesy Duck, here is your answer: https://radioinsight.com/headlines/206830/bustos-media-to-acquire-kxxp-launches-urbana-104-5-portland/ They seem to be exaggerating their signal.

So will they give up on the translator now?

Re: Translator… Which one??!!! Bustos seems to hold on to a few crossband translators around Portland , rattling the LPFM community into the process. The Bustos Media group still has a long way to the reach market ownership cap so I suspect a few more radio properties will be acquired aroundthe Portland area, especially as the bigger firms exit the market.

(Oh yes, the KXXP MeTVFM stream died around 5:50pm last night.)

I wonder if Bustos is going to get K283BL (104.5) translator as well as KXXP White Salmon/Portland?

The KXXP sales agreement has just been posted. $700,000. ($100K cash plus a 20-year promissary note for the rest.)

When KXXP was first launched the property was posted on RadioTVDeals.com for $850,000. This shows you the declining price of radio properties in just two years. (Jackman Holdings paided out $160,000 as the winning bidder for the then-Moro, Oregon assignment back in 2015 under Auction 98.
Originally no bidding credit was requested by Jackman so the “Unjust Enrichment Clause” does not have to be applied here.)

    Main agreement: https://enterpriseefiling.fcc.gov/dataentry/api/download/attachment/25076f91788f7a9b0178a3f90d850eaf

The interesting read is the list of Bustos current holdings:

(Note all those FM translators .. three in metro Portland.)

20 year note for financing 600k? That’s a freakin’ steal! Hell, I could even afford that. Even at 5% interest, the payments on the note would be under 4k/mo.

Another one bites the dust. It was the best format going in the area.
