Not sure, but I think it was shortly after I left KCYX full-time in January 1990. Sean Foy took over my 3p-6p shift. I continued to do a taped show, “6 at 6” every night.
I went back to KEX full-time & was a “consultant” for KCYX….basically programming without having to be at the station more than twice a week. By then, I think we all knew that the station was on life support. Playing the game of “paycheck roulette” got to be pretty old, so I took a pay cut at KCYX for the security of a more reliable payday at KEX.
