I remember hearing "KOMS Lebanon" , the first incarnation of 103.7 . A scratchy signal in Hillsboro and syrupy easy listening. Hardly any adverts. If I remember they signed off at 10pm ; thinking sign on was either 7am or 9am just to keep minimum hours. 30kw ERP if I recall. However, I am not sure if the original KOMS had a tower in Lebanon proper or if it had already migrated to the mountains.
At least they made it on the air versus the faux Lebanon shortwaver KTMI

As a DXer back in early 1974 I called KOMS before they signed on the air one night to see how long before we would hear the station. Cary Isley answered the phone. As you know he was KOMS owner, President, General Manager & Chief Engineer. He told me, he was working on the station late that night and that others had called also curious. I can't remember if he gave me a date but said, I was holding up KOMS getting on the air by just talking to him!
