  1. I guess Obama and the Democrats don't play too well there these days either.

Apparently these are some poorly educated Syrians. Obama is the one who intervened in the Middle East to take out a dictator who was putting down a rebellion, not Bush. Bush didn't invade Iraq to free its people, and he went into Afghanistan only after the events of 9/11 forced him to.

Ya think.... Just like the people in the south that voted Thurmmond into the Senate until he died.

These are people who are giving their lives for freedom, or at least a better lifestyle. Go ahead, ridicule them if you want to. We're used to that from liberals.

Which dictator are you referring to?

    Gordon Brown, of course.

No you're not - you're used to Democrats intervening in places like Kosovo and Libya and ending conflicts without loss of American life. And you're used to Republicans invading countries based on lies. I can't blame you for not knowing the difference.

"These are people who are giving their lives for freedom, or at least a better lifestyle. Go ahead, ridicule them if you want to."

That is, until they elect a Muslim-leaning government, then we'll see how much support you have for the "freedom movement" in Syria. We'd also be waiting for the inevitable apoplexy if Obama actually did get us into Syria. The reaction from the RWNJ's-Fear Anger Radio Clown Posse would immediately switch, in between heartbeats, from "Why isn't Obama doing anything to help Syria" to "How dare Obama get us entangled in another ME morass?" It'll go so fast, you'll need high-speed cameras to catch the flip.

  12. Deane is right again. Let's invade Syria.

    You are such a yutz.

  13. Duxrule, it's the Syrian protesters who want us to help, not me.

I actually don't have an opinion on it, I don't know enough about the situation to form one. We can't be the police force for every country in the world.

I rather see NATO step up to the plate, but the wimpy liberal Europeans are mostly just on the taking end of things.

You mean like the British and French, in Libya?

  15. >>>"You mean like the British and French, in Libya?"<<<

The British at least make a token presence in these conflicts, such as Iraq. France, who knows what they will do.

But, Europe is much bigger than those two countries. If they had some backbone, it would help keep some of these dictators in line. With the U.S. carrying the plank alone most of the time, it reduces the fear factor.

Right-wingers like Deane would scream if Obama went into Syria like he did in Libya - they want it both ways: Obama is wrong whether he intervenes in Syria or does nothing.

I don't remember any complaining about intervention in any country. I also don't remember any Conservatives complaining either.

  34. So we were talking about posts I had made on this forum criticizing Obama for going into Libya, which you couldn't come up with because there aren't any.

So, you go outside and try to find a couple of stories, unrelated to posts on this forum, where some conservative has complained. I believe you failed to do one thing, that is check who was complaining. In the stories you posted it was mostly Democrats. In one, McCain complained that Obama waited too long to move in.

You accusations just don't hold much water, do they.

  46. Trixter, you're wasting your time.

The original statement had to do with me saying I don't remember ever making a post complaining about going into Libya. You've done a lot of dancing, but you haven't found one on this forum. You wasted a bunch of time finding some Republicans somewhere who complained. That has nothing to do with my position or posts, or any other posts on this forum.

"Out of curiosity, can you point out where on the photo it looks Photoshopped? I blew it up and I don't see it."

Looking at the ripples in the white background... they don't appear to affect the letters...don't know, perhaps the letters are quite stiff...just looked a little strange to me, thats why I posed it as a question.

    Posted on December 20, 2011 - 07:34 PM #
  49. Good point. I can't tell for sure.

If you look at the U S in the upper right corner where the ripples are more pronounced, they look like they might follow the fabric.

However, the letters overall are a little bit perfect for an impromptu sign made in that country.

Yep! At least one letter in upper right corner looks distorted by the stretched fabric... that would seem to indicate that the letters are somewhat flexible... that is what caught my eye, as the rest look undistorted by the ripples, as if they are quite stiff. Don't know, but it looks a little fishy.
