No one in the public sector takes entertainment figures political diatribes seriously. The only ones that do are the media. It's self promotion. Fox news is the biggest offender when it comes to reporting what entertainers have to say that is irrelevant. In fact, Fox news is largely irrelevant.

Does Sean Penn not have First Amendment rights? Doesn't he possess the unalienable right to pop off like a horse's ass if he wants to? Just because he says something idiotic, do we have to give it any value? The conservatards/RWNJ/Fear-Anger Radio cabal play into Penn's hands by spreading this drivel. I usually ignore stupid stuff, and it goes away. It's when you repeat these things and spread them around that they continue to cause a problem.

Funny how he can support a guy like Chavez, but if it came to giving up the good life here and working with the peasants there, my bet is he would pass.
But then a guy like Penn would figue he would get priveleged status in a progressive society as Venezula he is a has telling the has nots how it's going to be.
