   I can confirm that 820 AM, KORC is off the air as of this writing. And it has been off the air for the past few weeks. However, that has not stopped somebody(s) from claiming to be "Rocket" radio telemarketing the coast in an effort to sell psas. One of my clients was contacted by phone this morning and an attempt was made, very hard sell, to sell psa time on "Rocket" radio. When my client mentioned that a newspaper article had come out just last week, confirming that the Korc-Rocket deal was dead, and that the station was dark, the caller said that was not true. Like I said, 820am has been and continues to be dark. What the hell is going on here?

   As it turns out, the infamous "Woodie" apparently contracted with a company to telepmarket the coast with those ads attached to irresistable psa-like announcments (stop wife-beating, stop child abuse, keep kids off drugs, don't eat puppies, etc). The Korc deal fell through and Woodie never bothered to contact the company doing the telemarketing. Thus, they continued to make calls. And some 50 sales resulted. Larry Profitt had no knowledge of this and is continues to suffer the indignities of ever having been involved with the folk who were allegedly trying to buy the station.

   Yup, sell "psa's." What happens is, a marketing company, like the one Woody(Or whatever the hell he's calling himself these days)apparently struck a deal with, calls small businesses and sells them little ads(usually 15 seconds) saying the usual Don't drink on prom might, drive carefully, good luck to the local high school sports team, etc, etc. At the station I worked at in Nebraska, one of my duties was to voice these ads, combine two of them to make a :30, add a music bed and enter them into the computer. Then, I would turn the completed work order, along with cut number and run dates into trafic, who would them schedule them for air.

   For some small businesses, that's the only way they can afford to ever get on the air.

   For Woody not to call that company and tell them Rocket Radio was dead, is just another reason to view him with contempt.

   This is exactly the route he took with his Cabo Wabo Radio. Same Game Plan different format.... If it flies, expect him to work his way into some other small town station... Wood was quiet on AA for awhile, now back on... Thought he burned that bridge as well.

   Well known to the half a dozen locals that frequent that particular dive.....

   Did he get all his clothes loaded into the car as he got out of town a step ahead of the landlord? Just think he could have been originating from a well known place on the Oregon coast.......KORC COUNTRY!!!! Remember Korc spelled backwards is CROK WOW Woody and CROCK Radio how befitting that would have been

   (you can bet they will line up for that.)

   So Woody left Mich, Mexico, Georgia, screwed with people in several states, and is now hiding out in the Keys........

   What's next for him?

   Woody, the Osama of Broadcasting hiding in a cave...........
