We don't get past basic things like racism, theocracy and bigotry without paying attention, looking at the data, watching what the norms are.
I fully support discussion like this, because it is necessary. Always.
Would be great to say, "it's over" and just move on to the next thing. Maybe we can start focusing on the trannies, for example. They are just now really entering the discussion. Long haul for those folks to get all sorted.
But we can't really do that. Ask my black son whether or not it's over. We've had the talk, and it's over officially as in should somebody call the authorities the right things get done more than not and in more places than not.
But is it really over? Fuck no it's not. May never be, and he lives his life knowing there are way too many fuck nuts looking to give him a raw deal because he's browner than they are. Fact of life.
Checked his FB yesterday. Don't go there much because, well it's FB. Messy.
His tagline, "Proud to be an American!" Fuck yeah. Obama means a lot to him, and a lot of good is being done world wide. Obama winning twice is a symbol to the world that we all really are peers and should get over it.
We don't all suck, but there are still way too many of us that do.
