  2. He obviously has some skill in the endeavor. He must have developed that skill somewhere along the way. Perhaps as a community organizer?

    Ha! Not bad!

If only he could apply the same technique to Bin Laden, and certain world leaders.

Just another example of Obama's effectiveness.

  8. I just watched this clip!

    HELL YES!

There's a guy who can identify the problem, consider an effective and potent solution then execute it perfectly. Didn't even consider any pressure. That was off the table. Just get it done.

The interviewer tells the whole story too. One word, with great emotion and a simple gesture. Perfect.

Seriously, one of the things I really like about Obama is that he just doesn't have a lot of goofy inhibitions. This is a great quality in a person.

  9. When it was over, he picked up the dead fly and could be heard to whisper to his aide as he handed him the carcass, "Send this to Cheney."

In all seriousness, I just read an article where those idiots at PETA really are upset about him killing the fly!!!

    http://www.comcast.net/articles/news-politics/20090617/US.Obama.Dead.Fly/

They are sending him a "humane" bug catcher.

    It's a damn fly.

What a bunch of fools. I sure hope they are not getting any government funding.

  11. Yeah, PETA is a bit in the extreme. However, I don't think animals should suffer in the slaughterhouse. I think if they stuck to those more mainstream issues they would have a bigger following.

The funny thing was that Faux News had this as their lead story on their web site last night.

And actually, I wouldn't caracterize PETA as being really upset over this. From their website:

Believe it or not, we've actually been contacted by multiple media outlets wanting to know PETA's official response to the executive insect execution.

  12. Seemed rather humane to me. One quick smack and the fly had no pain. Fly spray is no doubt a horrible death.

So, here was one political topic where we all seemed to agree!

    President Obama, bringing people together.

  14. While Obama's performance was a home run, I have trouble visualizing John Kennedy or Ronald Reagen doing the same thing on TV.

"I have trouble visualizing John Kennedy or Ronald Reagen doing the same thing on TV."

    Another positive in my view.

While I think on many issues PETA is way over the top, I checked their website.
They did not just react to Obama swatting a fly.
They were inundated by requests for comments on it and responded to those requests.

    I say kill the fly!
There was a wholesale slaughter of slugs in my onion patch last night!

"And actually, I wouldn't caracterize PETA as being really upset over this..."

Pete, what I meant was really, they are upset not; they are really upset!

Funny how when you (generic) write something and someone else reads it it doesn't come out the same!

    Sorry for the confusion.

Give him time. He hasn't been in office long enough to destroy the nation yet.

It will be hard to outdo the decider when it comes to nation destroying.

What's left? Outsider.... What's left to destroy? DUHbya and Co. did it in 7 years. It would take 24 for Obama/Anyone else to do that much damage.
Outsider... You must be a DUHbya lover....?
    WOW!
