I've been watching some of the activity today. Damn cool effort. There is a lot of money in politics this year. We don't even know where it comes from, and that should disturb all of you. It does me.

The one push back we can do is to organize. I like what I saw today.

    Wow, powerful stuff.

It could also do a lot to show those who are close-minded, on a lot of issues, just how it REALLY is.

I sure think so. This is the kind of thing we need to see more of. Now, I hope you are writing about one nation working together, and didn't just get caught by me editing a double post!!

Edit: Probably you did. Oh well, I get it.

I saw the two posts, and happened to view the link on this one. You're good, Missing.

    No. Just dangerous!!

[enter evil KSKD -- the 10 percent evil part I struggle with]

So, I wonder whether or not this forum actually checks for the edit being within the edit time, or if it just doesn't present the edit link after the time period has elapsed?

I haven't actually checked that, because it would take time, but if I did, and found that a open edit window would just work regardless of the time, can you imagine the fun one could have?

Post up something known to just bring out the asses in all of us, then change the thread for some great humor!!

I feel that this also ties in with Chris' thread about the 1-in-7 Americans living in poverty, and asking what WE can do to better society. This is one great example of what all of us can do. It doesn't have to be grandiose, or publicized, or "all about me". Just simple acts of ourselves can do as much (or in some cases, more) than a monetary donation.

Money is something tangible. Here today, gone tomorrow, and too often not thought of once it's gone. Those in need see the results of our money in the form of food, clothes, shelter, etc. And yes, that's vital.

What is ALSO vital is us giving of ourselves. Donating time at the soup kitchen for the homeless. Salvation Army bell ringers or volunteers. Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Volunteers of America. Volunteering with your church, at your community center, teaching, mentoring, molding, caring. People outgrow shirts and shoes. They NEVER outgrow love, affection, and appreciation.

Yeah. I'm there for sure. Good stuff.

I really liked that project, because it's relevant, selfless, and a lot of fun. We all know stuff now that we wish we knew as kids, and that's fun to talk about!

That it is on U-Tube is brilliant!! You just know kids are going to check those out, and because it's not talking at them, or down to them, they are gonna watch those and think, and know they have futures.

There is also just perspective. I've really been struggling with that myself. At times, I feel just crushed over all that has happened. That little spark is gone, and I'm just burning time.

    It's hard.

Sometimes, I see a good thing like this, or somebody does some nice thing, and I feel much better, even though nothing material has changed!

The difference is I can make it that day, and I think that is all the difference in the world, even if that means making one right decision, instead of one very wrong one.

If it helps one kid off the ledge, to me, it's worth it.

Yeah. Talk really is cheap, when there is that in the balance.
