  1. -----------------------------------Chris Sargent Adds PD Duties For KEX, KPOJ-----------------------------------

ALL ACCESS has confirmed that CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock KFBW (105.9 THE BREW) and Oldies KLTH (OLDIES 106.7)/PORTLAND PD CHRIS SARGENT has added PD duties at sister News/Talk KEX-AM and Talk KPOJ-AM.

At KEX and KPOJ, SARGENT, who joined THE BREW in MAY 2009 from OASIS RADIO GROUP in FORT WAYNE, replaces MIKE DIRKX, who exited the stations in AUGUST.

  2. Typical clear channel move… take what used to be 4 peoples jobs, then give it ALL to one person. One major market station usually is time consuming enough, and this poor guy now has to manage 4.
Just when I thought CC couldn’t get any cheaper, they out do themselves.

    (snicker)

...or maybe just make it all the same content, to cut down on overhead costs.

  7. Had the pleasure and the education of working with both Chris and Robert Dove in Eugene and in 25+ years of broadcasting I have to say that I've never worked with a better ops guy and gm. These are both big picture players who get it and together will make life a piece of hell for the rest of the market. A real no-brainer.

  9. Congratulations to Chris.....who used to answer phones for me during the Friday night "Loveline" show at KEX back in the mid 80's!

You know it does sound a little sucky now that you mention it. Truth is I just simply have a ton of respect for these guys. And they will both confirm for you that I am "radio retired."

I was going to say the same thing. Who would've thought that pitching up Oldies or Classic Rock, would keep anyone listening.
