Once can try to put lipstick on a pig, but killing babies is killing babies:
"On April 28, 2010, prolifers from across Michigan saw something they probably couldn’t imagine ever occurring: A Planned Parenthood director giving the keynote address at a Right to Life event.
Abby Johnson, now a former Planned Parenthood director, experienced a change of heart while assisting with an ultrasound-guided abortion. She quit her job in the fall of 2009.
Abby spoke about how she became involved with Planned Parenthood as a volunteer during college and quickly moved up through the ranks to become a director before her 30th birthday.
The inside information Abby shared about the business practices of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers was shocking. As a clinic director, Abby was tasked to meet specific patient goals for the various services her clinic provided. During a planning meeting, she noticed the goals for increasing the number of abortion patients kept rising while the goals for non-abortion services like breast exams and colon cancer screenings remained the same. She questioned her superiors about this and was told more money was needed to help Planned Parenthood’s finances.
More disturbing was Abby's description of a procedure Planned Parenthood used to administer the abortion drug RU-486. Abby detailed how Planned Parenthood in Iowa uses video teleconferencing to allow abortionists to skirt the state's law and dispense abortion drugs without ever physically meeting patients. Iowa law requires that the abortion doctor not merely prescribe but actually "administer" the RU-486 abortion drug to the woman seeking the abortion. She explained how this is troublesome to Planned Parenthood in Iowa because some abortion clients live far away from the larger cities where Planned Parenthood’s abortionists work. Having the abortion doctor travel to rural clinics to provide abortions for one or two women was not deemed cost-effective for the nation's largest abortion provider. To solve this problem, Planned Parenthood set up a system where the abortion doctors use video teleconferences with women in rural clinics. Without ever examining the woman, the abortionists can push a button on their computer and a drawer with abortion drugs will open at the rural clinic.
While this process makes financial sense to Planned Parenthood, the deaths of several women and complications including excessive bleeding, severe pain and vomiting for countless others who have used RU-486 would indicate it is very dangerous -- especially for women taking the drugs without access to the physician who prescribed them. The abortion drugs don't even work completely for about 8 percent of women who have taken them. These women are then encouraged to have a surgical abortion.
When Planned Parenthood claims they think of women and their safety first, remember Abby Johnson and what she shared about her former employer."

Talk about pissing away money!

That's the democrat way...either wish for the death of your political opponent, or crush the skulls of innocent pre-born babies....for cash.
November's coming soon, folks.

Coupla things I said I would do each time Herb.
1. Make sure people have a chance to donate to Planned Parenthood, who offers lots of services that lower income Women need. If we had a better health care scene here, there would be far less demand for those services.
(and I'm not talking about abortions Those are offered too, and are currently legal, no matter how much you want to bitch about it)
2. When you decide to misrepresent my words about Dobson, I made it clear I would check that.
Today, rather than link the headless dancers in Latin America, killed by anti-gay, "killing for Jesus" vigilantes, enabled by powerful, and violent dogma, produced by an author, prominent in the Dobson organization
,or link to the gay killings in places like Rwanda(however you spell it), enabled by powerful advocacy from the Christian Taliban, who wants to criminalize who people are, just like we see in the Muslim nations they claim to be against,
I think I'll post a reminder about why I made that post:
You see, it's perfectly legal, and apparently acceptable to actually wish or pray for death, which I didn't actually do, demonstrated by these fine holy rollers:
http://thebrassmonkeyblog.net/preacher-steve-anderson-wants-obama-dead/
http://crooksandliars.com/john-amato/pastor-drake-prays-obamas-death-im-not
Here's the money quote:
Colmes: ...you then said, I asked for whom else are you praying in that fashion and you said President Obama. Are you praying for his death?Drake: Yes.
Colmes: So you're praying for the death of the president of the United States?
Drake: Yes. Are you concerned that by saying that you might find yourself on some secret service call or FBI most wanted list. Do you think it's appropriate to say something like that or even pray for something like that?
Drake: I think it's appropriate to pray for the will of God. I'm not saying anything, what I'm doing is repeating what God is saying, if that puts me on somebodies list then I'll just have to be on their list.
Colmes: You would like for the president of the United States to die?
Drake: If he does not turn to God and does not turn his life around I am asking God to enforce in imprecatory prayers throughout the scripture that would cause him death, that's correct.
So then, what did I do? It sure as hell wasn't that!
I expressed the sincere hope that God would call Dobson home sooner rather than later. Not before his time, mind you, just hoping that time is sooner rather than later. We wouldn't want Dobson to get less than he is due, now would we?
Finally, I mentioned that I would stop when we see those holy rollers stop, as the whole affair is decidedly morbid, and a clear example of why a theocracy is not American in any way, shape or form.
The law of the land is abortion is legal. I get to support those organizations that do work to keep women healthy, and able to exercise control over their own bodies, and that's perfectly ok to do.
Did we hear how awful it was for those religious right wingers to do what they did? Come on Herb. Where is your black and white world on that note? You've never actually addressed that painful issue. Seems to me, if it's wrong, it's wrong --or did I miss a day in Sunday school somewhere, when they told the little kids who to hate?
Care to step up to the plate on that, or will you just slink away again, waiting for another chance to misrepresent what I said, AGAIN, because you've gotten your ass handed to you one too many times?
Let me know how I can help you get it all sorted out.
You see, I don't have to lie about it like you do. What I wrote wasn't offensive, because I didn't actually wish somebody dead, like the examples above. There is absolutely nothing for me to hide. Why should I? After all, I've nothing to do with that bigot Dobson. (and he is a bigot --big, just a safety tip from me to you buddy)

Abortionists for Buchanan!
OK... seriously, I worry about the kids like the ones shown in the documentary Jesus Camp. If they ever get anything on the subject, it's that "children come from God" with no other elaboration or reasoning. They'll never get anything about self-control and/or how to discuss the topic with a possible date. Thereby creating an endless supply of people for those who only blast bible verses to shout at and demand all their money.

I see Herb wants pregnant women to die getting illegal and unsafe abortions again.
Posted on September 4, 2010 - 10:08 PM # -
I have no issue with abortion but if you get one out of the fact that you were too dumb to take precautions to make sure you don't get pregnant then you need your plumbing removed.

Folks who are anti-abortion are also anti-birth control and some believe the act of sex is strictly for procreation.

I also made a commitment a while back.
And have just made good on it by donating $20.00 to Planned Parenthood in response to Herb's starting another thread about baby killers.
Planned Parenthood thanks you Herb!

Hardly a surprise from those willing to pierce the head of a preborn baby...for money.
Now not only will I be donating to the folks at Right to Life, but the Dobson's Focus on the Family political action committee, too.

Pro lifers are all hypocrites.
War is OK. Sending our 20 year olds off to a preemptive war designed by Dick Cheney is OK according to most pro lifers. Killing thousands of Iraq's children was OK. Totally justifiable.
You are the sick ones, Herb. YOU.
I hope you are ready for a surprise in November. The silent majority will speak.
And even if that doesn't happen to be as loud as I would like, there will never be
an overturning of Roe v. Wade. You are not ever going to get what you want.
Get used to it.The hypocrisy of the American pro-life movement

That's what I like about a free country - we can agree to disagree. However, there should be more understanding that we aren't required to agree with each other. No amount of message board bickering will ever result in everyone agreeing on every subject discussed.

That's not all, look for videos/sites about "depleted uranium." Best to do so with a strong stomach and not before/during/after eating. Many other children stillborn or will have extremely short life expectancies (anywhere from death in infancy and/or death after only a few short years). Those who do survive have horridly disfiguring and/or debilitating conditions. Telling them that God loves them and they will eventually receive new bodies that are immune to disfigurement and disease won't adequately cover the physical, psychological, or social pain they'll have to endure for their lifetime on this planet.

Herb doesn't give a shit about life. He openly supports the murder if innocent Iraqis. He openly supports religious cults killing their children with lack of care.
It's all about control for people like Herb (and a little mental instability). They don't give a crap about fetus or the woman, it's all about taking a choice away from someone else that they don't agree with.
Mind your own fuckin business!

Even the leftist CBS is heralding the demise of our current abortion-backing administration.
Just in time to block any further anti-life supreme court nominees.

Way back when I was in middle school (which back then meant nothing more than paraphrasing information found in a few library reference books), while reading an article that had nothing to do with the topic, I came across the fact that in ancient times, babies with any sort of defect were left to die of exposure, and casting out children for even slight misbehavior was common. That was absolute murder, but was accepted practice by society.
I found that so personally disturbing I've remembered it over the years.
One more comment, especially for HD... if you read this within the hour, please turn on 101 KUFO. They're running a program you ought to hear.

Mother's Hug Revives Newborn
A mother in Australia whose premature newborn was pronounced dead said she stirred him back to life by using a method known as "kangaroo care."
Kate Ogg was told her son, Jamie, had died after efforts to resuscitate him failed shortly after his birth. But when doctors placed the baby across his mother's bare chest so his parents could say goodbye, Kate Ogg and her husband, David, said he began showing signs of life.
After five minutes, Jamie began displaying short, startled movements. As his parents looked on, the baby's movements became more pronounced.
Doctors maintained the movements were purely reflex, but two hours later, Jamie opened his eyes.
“We thought, ‘What a blessing, we get to see his eyes before he passes away,’ ” Kate Ogg said Friday on NBC's "Today" show. “But they stayed open.”
The couple was practicing what Australians call “kangaroo care," in which an infant is held skin-to-skin to their mother or father, generating heat for the newborn much like a baby kangaroo receives in its mother’s pouch.
Jamie continued to come around as he lay across Kate’s chest, grabbing at his parents' fingers. And when Kate Ogg put a dab of breast milk on her finger, Jamie eagerly accepted it.
“We thought, ‘He’s getting stronger -- he’s not dead,’ ” Kate Ogg said.
The skeptical doctor wouldn't return to their bedside until they asked him to explain the death further.
Kate Ogg told the London Daily Mail the doctor was in disbelief when he arrived back at the bedside.
“He got a stethoscope, listened to Jamie’s chest and just kept shaking his head," she said. "He said, ‘I don’t believe it, I don’t believe it.’”
Jamie and his twin sister, Emily, are now healthy 5-month-olds.
David Ogg gave all the credit to his “very strong, very smart wife."
“She instinctively did what she did,” David Ogg told The Daily Mail. “If she hadn’t have done that, then Jamie probably wouldn’t be here.”

If any of this is true, down the road we're likely looking at a severely disabled child here -- long abandoned by the Herbs of the world and dumped on taxpayers to deal with (I wonder how that new hospital in Salem is coming along now?)
Here's a bit of good news from Texas:
The Institute for Creation Research is apparently conceding defeat in its lawsuit over the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's 2008 decision to deny the ICR's request for a state certificate of authority to offer a master's degree in science education from its graduate school. . .
http://ncse.com/news/2010/09/icr-concedes-defeat-over-its-graduate-school-006160
What does this have to do with this tread? Not much but likely more informational than anything Herb has posted in this thread thus making your visit to this thread somewhat worthwhile.

I know some people who were born disabled. It's not their fault. They're capable of doing things even if they need help doing others. Their parents, some of whom are extremely liberal while others are extremely conservative, are very glad they have them.Posted on September 6, 2010 - 11:37 PM # -
Just to make it clear, I'm talking SEVERELY mentally disabled children.
In Herb's post, only the word "healthy" was used to describe the 5-month old physically -- nothing about the child's mental state. The ONLY mention of any mental state was said about 'a very smart wife'. The fact they mentioned THAT and not the child's state of mind sure sets off alarms.
MOD said: . . . are very glad they have them.
I'm not faulting that at all. But parents don't live forever. Eventually they're dumped on society and the Herbs with their pocketbooks open are nowhere to be found. The severely mentally retarded child (now adult) as a result of hokus pokus reviving after long periods of being without oxygen or or the "heroic rescue" of an ultra-early premmies draw funds away from some physically disabled people that could be turned into contributors to society if we only had the funds.

Winston-Salem police are trying to figure out what happened to a baby found dead in a blue storage bin outside Planned Parenthood early yesterday morning.
Employees at Planned Parenthood at 3000 Maplewood Avenue called police around 7 a.m. after finding the body of a white infant girl in the container.
Police sent the infant's body to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for an autopsy.
