I say go ahead NY go this route and it only makes Portland look even better as America's culinary/restaurant capital of the US. No wonder the NY media is always writing about how Portland is such a great foodie city nearly every month these days.

Yeah, there's nothing better than getting your medical advice from a guy on TV.
Hey, Deano...I can read, I know this stupid bill came from a Dem. Do we really need to track down the stupid bills from GOP sponsors?

"Seems to me, I can easily deal with the salt regulation problem "

Why should you have to? It's just more government involved in controlling every aspect of your life.

Under the feeble excuses I read above, the government should regulate how many calories you eat per day since we know overweight is more harmful than salt.

Dr. Oz:

Salt is the single biggest preventable reason for high blood pressure. When salt is consumed, it activates the same part of the brain as cocaine and heroin addiction. The recommended maximum daily intake of salt for a healthy individual is 2,300 mg; if youre consuming more than that, you are putting yourself at risk for hypertension, vascular and cardiac damage, and obesity in addition to high blood pressure.

Well, isn't that fun?

There are almost NO foods that cannot be properly prepared in a no-salt environment, and almost none that cannot be seasoned properly after preparation.

Seems to me, I can easily deal with the salt regulation problem a whole lot easier than I can a bad economy that denies me the trip out in the first place, which is what "no control of our lives" Republicans brought us.

For a bit of perspective, I can look at this proposed legislation and just laugh. I can laugh whether or not it passes.

It's a whole lot harder to laugh at the trillions, dead people, jobs outsourced, environment trashed legislation from those Republicans, who believe that Big Bucks Bob gets to fuck us, and our kids, for a quick buck today.

Non issue. If it passes, then you put some salt on the food, and if somebody really is pissed about it, run it through SCOTUS and get a salt decision. Big fucking deal.

With Democrats running things, you've got a shot at being able to afford both the trip to the establishment for that nice, healthy meal, and if you put too damn much salt on your food, the doctor bill that goes along with that.

If you vote in more Progressive Democrats, you probably will see a better shot at a job that actually pays enough to retire on, giving you the luxury of fighting over Social Security too.

"...Too much salt is bad for you..."

Too much of anything is bad for you.

"... but it wouldn't take much of a Google search to find a whole boatload of retarded bills being sponsored by fine members of the GOP."

It was a Democrat that introduced this bill.

Salt is essential for living. Look it up; the salinity of your bodily fluids almost exactly matches that of the sea. Too much salt is bad for you. That being said, this bill is pretty ridiculous, but it wouldn't take much of a Google search to find a whole boatload of retarded bills being sponsored by fine members of the GOP.

"In this case they are not telling me I can't eat salt, they are trying to tell the chefs not to put salt in the food when they cook it which in effct is "don't eat salt""

No way Jose. Salt is bad for you, all the legislation says is that the consumer gets to choose how much salt he/she wants.
